Chapter 12 - Chapter 12. Rank 1 acolyte

Next morning,

Tirus went to his master at sharp 6:00 am. He didn't need the A.I. chip to wake up early, it was his habit to wake up early, as for proper sleep, knights had high vitality, so even if Tirus only slept for 4 hours, he'd still be in top-notch condition.

"Good morning master." Tirus greeted his master as he saw two other figured near him.

"Hello, Tirus, we meet again!" It was Rick, the boy whom Tirus met in the carriage.

"I see we chose the same professor." He added.

The other one was a girl with blue hair

"Oh, I got two juniors now! Hello, I am your senior, Lara, ask me if you need help with anything." She said.

She had come to this academy 4 years ago and was a rank 2 acolyte, nearing rank 3.

"Hm, stop talking!" Professor David said in an agitated tone.

'What a bad temper he has! What did we even do?' Rick thought, but he didn't dare to show any negative emotion on his face and bowed in apology along with everyone else.

"Okay, now, I'll teach you all the basics of transmutation today, so first you have to know…"

Professor David taught the basics of transmutation in great detail and after that, he gave Rick and Tirus a crystal ball filled with the basic information about Transmutation.

"You can go now, Lara, you stay here." He ordered, gesturing them to leave.

They left and Lara stayed behind, looking at her master sheepishly.

"Master, I have completed the project that you gave me."

"Hm, show me." David said with an indifferent expression, however, he was quite excited internally.

Lara took out the glove on her right hand, revealing an arm seemingly made of diamond.

"Oh, so you've successfully done it...transforming your arm into mirror flesh at just the acolyte rank...Genius, truly a genius!" David began praising Lara non-stop.

The magi who mainly studied and practised transfiguration were able to make changes their bodies, just like this one.

Lara had changed her entire right arm into a substance called flesh mirror, it was as flexible as human muscles and as hard as diamond with the appearance of glass, making such changes to oneself while being at the level of an acolyte was a great achievement for many as it required one to have exceptional control over their spiritual force. One mistake and they may forever loose their arm.

At night,

In the student's dorms,

It only took Tirus an hour to completely store and comprehend the information that the crystal ball had. This was nothing new as it was a common way of the magus academies for providing information efficiently.

'I don't have much money on me right now, I think I should focus on my acolyte cultivation and gathering of knowledge from the library.

Since I am a grade 5 talent, it'd be very normal for me to make a breakthrough to rank 1 acolyte within a week and rank 2 within 2~3 months, then after becoming a rank 2 acolyte, I can complete missions to earn money, and then I can buy information about potioneering which would allow me to get rich fast!' He thought as he formulated a plan.

Ever since him devouring Leylin's soul, his thought process had become quite fast which allowed him to make a plan quickly. But that didn't mean he'd always make the best decisions.

'I think I should've chosen potioneering as the main at start then I wouldn't have to go through all this trouble…. No! What's done is done, I shouldn't overthink.' Thinking that he sat cross-legged on his bed, meditating and excited about his future.

Calming down his mind, he started breathing according to the acolyte cultivation manual.

….

Five days had passed since he started his acolyte cultivation, tonight, he was extremely close to breaking through to rank 1 acolyte.

Tirus was currently breathing in a certain rhythm, black dots of light appeared along with black smoke as he kept inhaling it.

Soon, his mind buzzed as the construction of the first mind rune was completed, and he entered rank 1 acolyte. He felt a vibration being produced from his head which spread into his entire body, expelling the impurities.

[Beep! Construction of the first mind rune completed! A new energy detected in the host's body.]

[The host's soul has been strengthened! A.I. chip is entering a state of updating itself!]

The A.I. chip gave a prompt as it's voice disappeared but resounded in his head after a few minutes.

[Beep! A.I. chip has now been fully upgraded! Calculative capability improved drastically!]

"A.I. chip, show me my current data!" Tirus gave a command to the A.I. chip.

Ever since A.I. chip had been infused with Tirus's soul, it had already been improved a lot, but it still wasn't enough for it to get past a certain barrier. But now that it had come in contact with the higher level energies of this world, it broke through that barrier.

[Host's data had been calculated]

[Name: Tirus Van Elrod, Occupation: Knight, rank 1 acolyte, strength: 3.1, agility: 3.4, vitality: 3.2, spiritual force :1.2 (magic power is in sync with spiritual energy) status: Healthy]

'Hm, it sure has given me a considerable boost in vitality, that's great now I just have to follow through my plans.' He thought as he looked at his pet eagle, Hawke. Currently, it was loyally sitting on the edge of his bed as it looked at it's master.

"Little one, soon, you'll be of great use to me in the future." Tirus said with an expressionless face.

To be continued….
