Patricia looks in horror as she looks at two students laying on the ground on their bums. The ginger-haired girl looks at her with anger in her eyes, "You just assaulted me!" Patricia gulps, "I am sorry, I'm just trying to ease up the fight over here."
"What's happening in here?" A familiar voice spoke which made Patricia stand frozen in her place. "Mother!" The ginger-haired girl approached Sophronia. "This girl right here almost killed us with her crystals. I think there's a better way using your elemental abilities, you know?" She crosses her arms but Patricia persisted. "They started it, Mrs. Bethel-Craith. They pushed this young lady for some unknown reason."
"Because she almost gets us stumbled upon the stairs as well." The dark green-haired said, "If she didn't do that and got out of our way, she will not get in this situation." The girl with glasses fixes herself and looks at the ground, feeling sorry to them rather than to herself.
Sophronia looks around, she could see a lot of students starting to crowd, watching something unfold. She puts her hand on her waist and gave them a stern look, "You should be all professional about this, go, this is a business between us only." The students bolted in fear of the Vice-Chancellor. Sophronia looks back at them, "As for you all…" She sighs, "This is the first day of the school year, and you are all getting yourselves in trouble."
She pins her glasses and sighs, "I'll let this slide." She looks at Patricia, "As for you, come with me." The ginger-haired girl smirks but Sophronia glares at her, "Wipe off that smirk, Miss Vivian. I'm going to talk with you later as well. As for Margarette, I will be talking to you as well along with her. I supposed no one is badly injured, it was just a mild misunderstanding." Sophronia flicks her tongue, "You should part ways now and don't come in contact for a day. I don't want a fight to start once more."
Vivian crosses her arms, "Come on, Margarette, we got things to do." They leave the two be. "I apologize for the action of my own daughter, but Miss Prudent don't do that again. You're the young lady whose grandmother told me to keep an eye on, right?" Patricia couldn't look her in the eye. Sophronia sighs, "I knew why she told me so. I will not pry on the specifics of why you're power is going like this, but we need to talk privately. I don't want anyone just bursting crystals all over my school."
She looks at the young lady with a braid, "As for you, Miss Maile, be careful next time. We will be leaving you for now." She looks at Patricia and starts walking which the young blonde lady follows.
They arrived at the administrative building and called Miss Stanton in the lobby. Patricia was nervous if what will happen to her Pristinity teacher because of what she did. Cassidy didn't take too long to get to them and was surprised to see the Vice-Chancellor and a student of hers in the same location. They had a chat on the nearby rooms purposefully made to hold small meetings.
"Why did you call me, Mrs. Bethel-Craith?" Sophronia fixes her glasses, "I am here to arrange a special class for Miss Prudent here." Cassidy was confused, "Why so? Is she some kind of a special case, again?" "You could say that but not in the way you would think." The Vice-Chancellor looks at Patricia, "You see, she just recently—and I meant recently—just involved in a small fight due to her unable to control her power. She almost hurt my very own daughter and her friend."
"But—" "I don't need any more explanation than that, Miss Prudent." Sophronia sighs, "Anyway, I need you to take care of this young lady. I already have a whole school to look out for, Miss Prudent here wouldn't get the guidance she needs. She's not even a dot on the school's population, I have many further things to attend to."
"I understand, Mrs. Bethel-Craith." Cassidy looks at Patricia, "Meet me after class and we will—" "I want you to arrange a time and day for her right now. The school has given the students enough window time to get the errands and things they need to do. Slipping another schedule won't stress her out." Cassidy stiffly nods, "Yes, Mrs. Bethel-Craith. Maybe later three in the afternoon? So you could have a window time to rest after your class and lunch. How does that sound?"
"I am fine with anything, Miss Cassidy, as long as it does not disturb my classes." Cassidy nods, "Three in the afternoon then."
"Very well, I supposed this is a deal." Patricia just nods in silence. "My mind is now at ease now that your grandmother won't be running across the ocean just to get here and complain why I didn't hold up my promise." Sophronia looks at Cassidy, "I will be trusting you with this young lady and even other students that go through this phase. With the things that have been happening now with Thereal, I supposed that a lot of the new Arthean Mentiel students are as overwhelmed as her."
"It's my duty to help them whenever they need it, Mrs. Bethel-Craith, especially I am their Pristinity teacher." Sophronia stands, "Wise choice, Miss Stanton. For now, I will be on my way, I still have a meeting with the board members of the academy's market."
Cassidy approaches Patricia, "Don't worry, Miss Prudent. You'll be fine under my hands. I have handled some students like you, even much more daring ones. You just need to ease up a bit, maybe even these special classes won't last, I know just the solution for you to control your powers a bit better or even at the best you can do." The young lady smiles, "Thank you, Miss Cassidy. I was pretty nervous about what will happen when Mrs. Bethel-Craith involved you in this problem."
"Please, don't be nervous. That's your number one problem if you are unable to control your ability. You should be confident and everything will come off smoothly." Cassidy giggles, "I never knew you will be that type, you seem confident to me. The way you presented yourself in my class earlier shows your personality, but I guess we all have our little inside personality."
"Thank you again, Miss Cassidy. I wish I will not be a handful for you. I will go now and wait for my next class." Her teacher smiles, "You will not be a handful for me, you seem to be a well-behaved student. Good luck on your next class."
Patricia left the building with embarrassment, she did not expect her first day to end up like this, especially early in the morning. She sighs and heads her way to the history class building where she purposefully just waited inside the classroom rather than the outside. The classroom was filled with bookshelves, mostly history texts and even some exhibits that she thinks are learning references. The seats are leveled with each other but still have those long tables that accommodate two students.
She takes a seat and places her head on the table. Her eyes suddenly shifted to her shoulder. She raises her head and looks around, looking if anyone is in the room. Patricia takes off the upper part of her vest and looks at her mark on the shoulder.
She could see that half of it was faded, a large portion of her mark. "How could I have consumed that much mana out of that small explosion of crystals?" Patricia sighs, "Mrs. Bethel-Craith was right, I needed to have some sort of special training. I don't know how much mana I could consume or restore."
After a long while of waiting, the classroom finally fills up and their teacher for their history class arrived. She has long black hair that almost reached the ground and pale skin that was strange for Patricia to even look at. She has a silk fabric attached to her waist as if it was a mini-skirt. Now she noticed it, some of her classmates have some silk fabric on parts of their bodies as well.
"Good morning," her stern and cold voice emits across the room. The students stood and greeted her. "I am Mrs. Pleasance Gerville, and I will be your history teacher for the whole year." She reaches out a teaching stick, playing with it as she introduces herself. "There's no need for introduction, as long as you're active in my class, I will know you slowly but surely." She sticks her hand on her side and a book suddenly rushes towards her palm. "Please take out your books that the school recommended you to get and go to page 18."
Mrs. Gerville puts the book and it flips itself on its own, going to the page she mentioned. "Our lesson for today is to explain a lot of terms that we will be using for the rest of the year. Remember these things because I don't want anyone asking questions again."
They went on a long list of boring terms that Patricia most probably forget. Most of the class was Mrs. Gerville just silently murmuring her hate of Arthiels, which is not a good example for her student. All of the class was extremely uncomfortable with her sometimes going off-topic and mumbling about Arthiels.
The class end was a relief for most of them, they didn't even finish the whole lesson one on that day. They were left with an activity that makes them recap everything that they discuss in the day.
It was already eleven in the morning, Patricia decided to go into the cafeteria that looks more like a food court rather than a school cafeteria. There are a lot of establishments selling different foods. The building was big enough to accommodate a vast amount of shops and a large variety of foods to choose from.
She decided to get some foods that were new for her or caught her attention along the way. With the pocket money and additional vault money she have, it was like a buffet for her. She took a seat to enjoy her food when someone joined her.
"Could… I join with you?" Patricia looks up to see the familiar girl, the one she protected before. "Oh, sure!" She smiles and offered her a seat. The shy girl joined her at the table. "I never thought I would see you here. Did that arrogant ginger girl mess with you again?" The girl shakes her head, "No, it's just… I think you are nicer than the other people around here." She gulps, "My mother instructed me to have some friends… And I thought of you."
Patricia smiles, "I am glad that I look approachable, I am finding a friend as well. My name's Patricia!" The girl smiles, "I am Antonietta… Antonietta Maile. It's nice to meet you. If it wasn't because of that incident, I wouldn't have the courage to talk to anyone…"
"Well, I am your friend now!" Antonietta smiles, "I supposed that's better than none." Patricia claps happily, she suddenly made a new friend. Her disruptive powers might have helped her to form a connection with another mentiel. "I'm also here to say thank you. It takes a lot of courage to stand up to another person, especially one that's the daughter of the Vice-Chancellor herself."
"Is she a new student here?" Antonietta nods, "Yes, she was my classmate in my Pristinity class. It was an awkward class for me… I am glad that she was in the very front and I am in the middle, she can't see me and if I just don't look down too much, I wouldn't see her."
Antonietta looks at her, "Say… you didn't mean to hurt her before, did you?"
