The party stood across from the giant croc as it glared at them. Surprising to everyone besides Marcus, it spoke in a rough gravelly voice.
"So you are the intruders who have invaded my domain and killed all my precious pets!
I will make all of your deaths painful and make you wish you never stepped foot within these walls!
It shall be nice to hear your screams of agony! It has been far too long since I have had a toy to break! These walls shall become your tomb foolish humans!"
It roared once more releasing it's power murderous aura upon the party and Artox stood forward and crouched behind his shield and banged his sword against it yelling back "Bring it on you overgrown lizard!"
As if he knew exactly how to anger the crocodile, anyone who knows anything about Herpetology, will know that a croc and lizard are not the same thing.
Artox didn't even need to use [Envoke] the entire fight as the King of the Sewers wanted to tear Artox's limbs off one by one and slowly bleed him to death.
Before the King of the Sewers was able to fully stand up, Mawu unleashed [Double Shot] as the arrows plunged deep into it's chests The King of the Sewers roared loudly jumping in the air and bringing his cleaver down on top of Artox who crouched down and lifted his shield above his head, blocking the crushing blow.
Mawu and Marcus began their engagement in their normal fashion unleashing their skills in quick succession.
As the King of the Sewers was about to swing on Artox, Lisa's [Wind Bolt] once against slammed against it's head causing the croc to recoil backwards. The King of the Sewers roared once more as it slammed it's saber into the ground and lifted both of it's clawed hands up.
Marcus yelled "get back!" As water began bubbling near the feet of the King of the Sewers as everyone retreated back two meters as the King of the Sewers was lifted into the air as a water spout came crashing down under him as the murky water bill rushed out in a 360° around the King of the Sewers.
As the King of the Sewers gripped it's saber, everyone reconvened to engage him as Lisa unleashed another [Wind Bolt], unfortunately after staggering it once, it was immune to the secondary effect of her spell.
It wasn't long after they had resumed taking down the King of the Sewers when he placed his sword on his back, as it magically attached, and got down on all fours and roared loudly.
"He's gonna pounce!" Marcus yelled "Get ready to go all out!!"
Artox crouched down and his behind his shield as he pointed the sword out over it, hoping to deal damage to the King of the Sewers when he pinned him down.
As the King of the Sewers leaped towards Artox, he took a critical hit as the sword was pierced into his thick muscles. He had pinned Artox against the ground as he began clawing against his shield, quickly damage was beginning to rack up against Artox.
Lisa refreshed Artox's [Whispering Winds] as Marcus unleashed both [Rush] and [Overhead Slash] releasing Artox from the King of the Sewers' grasp, who quickly got up and reengaged him.
The King of the Sewers stood up gripping it's saber once again and charged back towards Artox crashing once against his shield. Mawu had retreated pulling his bow out and grabbing his last arrow unleashed another [Double Shot] as they pierced it's shoulders.
It didn't take much longer for the King of the Sewers to wield it's oversized saber backwards in it's other hand and lowered itself down into 3 of it's 4 limbs it began foaming at the mouth. Froth and suds were beginning to drop from the King of the Sewers' mouth to the ground.
"Get closer!" Marcus yelled as Lisa moved into melee range as the King of the Sewers lifted it's head as massive water bombs were fired out of it's mouth and crashing explosions could be heard behind everyone.
It didn't take much longer after that for the King of the Sewers' health to reach below 50%, as it stood back up and returned it's saber to it's main hand and resume it's attack against Artox.
Artox was slowly moving as his footwork was being used in conjunction with his blocks of the King of the Sewers fierce attacks. He was barely able to land a counterattack for every three attacks that was blocked.
Marcus was beginning to get worried as his stamina was slowly depleting from it's excessively high reservoir of 450, barely having 240 left. Once he ran out it would take time to regenerate and he would be left with only dealing basic attacks.
Mawu was even worse off as Rummage could barely be considered an offensive move and mainly used for party utility. He had ran out of arrows and couldn't use any of his full stamina pool.
Lisa was doing a good job of maintaining her position to keep her mana regeneration throughout the fight but Whispering Winds was barely keeping their tank alive and she could never dream of running through her entire pool with only Wind Bolt.
As the King of the Sewers was nearing 40% he threw his saber at Artox, who deflected it to the side of the arena. The King of the Sewers roared loudly to the ceiling with it's hands up in frustration, before ripping off it's tattered cape from it's shoulders and dropping it to the ground, as it got down on all fours once more.
The King of the Sewers' body began convulsing as it roared once more this time knocking everyone back a meter or two as spikes emerged from it's tail and the joints between all four of it's limbs.
"Stay back!" Marcus warned as Artox and Mawu took a step foreword to reengage the monster. It didn't take a second for the King of the Sewers to spin it's body in a cyclone of claws and fangs as an air current appeared as it spun.
It didn't wait for the end of it's attack as the King of the Sewers launched itself forward slashing it's claws against Artox's shield once more.
The King of the Sewers had gone berserk as he was intent to maul Artox and his attacks were faster than before. Artox unleashed his [Battle Cry] which had brought it's attacks back to a manageable level.
As the fierce fight raged on, Marcus was still working on creating the skill but was still struggling with controlling the mana that was already inside his core. It just refused to listen to him.
It didn't take much longer for him to run out of stamina and could no longer use anymore skills. Meanwhile the King of the Sewers was just over 20% HP and was ready to use it's last skill.
It stomped all four of it's appendages crushing the concrete below them as it's talons dug into the ground. This was it's ace in the hole and was prepared to unleash it on the entire party.
As if everyone already knew what was about to happen they all turned around and left their backs exposed to the hulking crocodile without Marcus having to direct them.
He smiled and turned his back as well hoping his stamina would regenerate enough to unleash his skills a few more times. While waiting for the King of the Sewers' skill to go off, Marcus began focusing on his Mana Core.
He began going through the motions he had done so many times before he regressed trying to guide it as he had done millions of times before.
As the King of the Sewers roared it's bloodshot red eyes began glowing a bright shade emerald as the light enveloped his body and was expelled forth.
Marcus was the first to turn, he had felt his Mana Core resonate after the glare attack and didn't want to miss his chance. As everyone turned around engaged the King of the Sewers once more, it's health dropping down to nothing but a sliver.
Marcus sheathed one of his sword and followed the motions as a small orb of condensed mana appeared from his index and middle fingers, he completed the motion and guided it towards his sword as he jumped in the air unleashing his favorite ability [Mana Slash]! Critical Hit!
