The complete darkness was disorientating and she heard Taylor move to get a hold of her. She ripped the door open and was sprinting down the hall. She might not look it but she was fast, and Taylor was after her down the hall. He got a hold of her as she hit the stairs and he pulled her to a stop.
"Let go!" She demanded tearing at his arm.
"I can't let you go." She heard a mix of anger and depression in his tone.
"Yes you can, they wouldn't see. And you're wasting time, like you want to be here." If what he'd said was true this was a perfect chance but he was wasting it.
"You have no idea how much I'd like too, but the odds and number aren't in our favor." He yanked her back and she fought him biting down hard into his arm. He cursed and let go of her, she sprang up the stairs and shoved a door open coming into a kind of living room that was pitch black. She ran to the right not sure where else to go.
