Carla shakes her head. "No way, Pika Shimon Capela. You say that, but I don't believe you mean it." She swallows hard. "We were good for a while, right?" she says, in a painfully wistful and quiet voice. You're used to Carla being angry. Seeing her sad is even worse. "But not anymore. It's not gonna work." Carla turns her head quickly away and runs a hand backward through her curly hair with a sharp, forceful gesture. "It's not gonna work," she says once more. "You'd better go."
There isn't anything left for you to do except what she's asking.
