Your self-centered speech seems to be doing the trick; the Winfields are softening, little by little. "It sounds like our girl is in good hands," Mr. Winfield says, a bit grudgingly.
"It does," Mrs. Winfield echoes, looking at her husband. "I really believe him."
Okay, so it's not really cool that she's talking about you like you're not here, but at least she's saying good things about you. And at least she isn't asking awkward questions about the fight that Justine got into.
