Immediately the basement was opened, the doctor came rushing towards the rails of the bars, begging to be let go. He begged not to be shipped back to Enzo's father, because he understood exactly what would happen if the man ever came to know about what he had done. If the truth ever came to be revealed, it would mean nothing more than death for him, for his entire family, for anyone who was involved with him. That is not what he wanted. But the doctor did not have a choice. Instead of begging like he had, horror filled his face when he saw the woman that was now being dragged across the cold floor of the basement.
And he watched as the newcomer stopped. He made a run for it but was immediately caught by Stewart, who stood just a couple of inches from the basement door.
