Chapter 11 - Luana's Journey - Part 1

After the first three months, winter in Basilica intensified, and snow replaced the rain, painting the entire plain of the kingdom in white, gray, and black. At the entrance of a village covered in snow, Luana's horse stopped, with her leaning over it, gasping and too weak to get up. She was not used to hunger, and the snow was not enough to completely quench her thirst. Her blurred vision and frozen fingers made it difficult to stay conscious.

— Someone! — she tried to shout, but her voice came out as a hoarse whisper.

The few villagers, sheltered from the cold in their homes, did not immediately notice the stranger's presence. However, a boy, playing near the entrance, spotted Luana and ran to alert the adults.

— Dad! There's someone outside! — he shouted, pulling his father's hand.

The man, robust and with a graying beard, quickly came out of his house, followed by his curious and broad wife. Upon seeing Luana and her horse, they hurried to help her.
