Other than luck and a few other wide spread belief, one of the things that Dave never believed in was supernatural beings. And a lot of things things had happened today suggesting that his disbelief in the subject matter might just be flawed. If he was told by someone about the events that occurred today, he would have outed that person as a liar.
But sadly he found himself to be the unfortunate witness of the whole event. And it wasn't an experience he could exactly describe as thrilling or memorable in any way as he had been virtually manhandled in the most demeaning way possible. But neither the intense punishment given to him or the unrealistic enemy he had to face fazed him as much as the final event that became the figurative nail on the coffin.
As right now in front of him, a figure appeared out of thin air. Dress in a reddish armor and a weird looking helmet on his head with a glove looking items on his hands. What Dave was seeing right now none other than the same figure that had appeared to Jayden on multiple occasions.
A lot of things had changed the moment this figure had appeared. For one, the pressure being mounted on Dave at the moment felt overbearing for him as he could barely move from the spot he sat on the ground. But it wasn't just the shift in energy that was the only thing to have happened.
Though Dave couldn't see now as the figure in a red armour had blocked him from seeing what was happening in his front. But immediately the figure had appeared, Jayden's apparent appearance as at that instant had changed almost immediately as he fell on his knees. His eyes had returned back to normal and the aura leaking from his hand, that had also retracted inside but one thing hadn't changed for sure.
"Master, you are here?" Jayden asked with his muffled voice.
"Vergil, I see you have been quite..busy" The strange figure replied taking a pause close to the end as he looked around at the mess Jayden had created. Broken walls and bodies lying all over like an army had just fought there. But the normal look of shock or disgust that should have normally appeared on any sane person's face after seeing this sight was far from this figure's face as he looked completely unbothered.
"For whom did you come to seek vengeance this time Vergil?" The figure asked.
"Great grand magus arishna, I have bad news" Jayden replied.
"Speak" the one referred to as arishna said.
"I didn't come here for a feast as you suspect" Jayden said still with his muffled voice.
Turning around for the second time, the one being referred to as arishna took another look at the surrounding and then with a questioning look directed at Jayden, he asked.
"What then have you come here for?" Zadin asked.
"Its a divine" Jayden replied with his muffled voice and his head bent low as he said the last word.
"A divine?"...." You fought a divine?!!!" Arishna said and one could tell at this point his soft commanding tone had now changed into a more compelling and harsher commanding tone. The sudden change in the air too was once again experienced by Dave who sat down the whole time listening in on them.
"Just what are this two going on about?" Dave thought as he sat still unmoving. One of the reasons he was famous and respected among the city's police department was because of his witt. And while his decision from earlier on to face Jayden was quite questionable, he wasn't one known not to think things through properly or jump the bus to make decisions.
But the situation he found himself then was what caused such Ballsy and dangerous move. He was quite the reasonable person and right now he knew the reasonable and safe thing to do was wait and not even try to do anything in the first place. How could he when the person that had dealt with him mercilessly minutes ago could be seeing through the gaping hole between the newcomer's legs kneeling on the ground. It could only mean they knew each other and the newcomer was quite the strong one for the person tormenting him all the while to be on his knees while speaking to him.
"No,absolutely not. By the time I arrived, the divine had gone already. I was checking to see what the divine might have left behind before this happened" Jayden's muffled voice explained as he raised his head and looked around for the last part.
"If this is true, then we would have to hasten the process. Do you have the crystal now?" Arishna asked Jayden.
"Yes" Jayden replied still with the muffled voice.
"Excellent, even at it's weakened state, it should be able to do one more transporting. I have a special assignment for you my vengeful sin" Arishna said with an evil smile cutting across his face.
"Any thing for my grand magus, I exist solely to be your faithful sin" Jayden replied.
"Oh Vergil, its not like you have a choice" Arishna replied and then chuckled before turning around ever so quickly. Now his gaze was fixed on a man that looked like he had been in the fight of his life. This was none other than the tired and wounded Dave who sat on the ground with his back against the wall and a look of hopelessness plastered from his face all the way down.
"Get ...up" Arishna the mysterious figure said facing Dave. And almost instantly, Dave's tired and exhausted body had suddenly gained some energy as it jerked up off the floor and stood in front of Zadin. But there was something not right about the whole thing that was happening. And it wasn't something that was even being hidden.
Right now, Arishna's eyes had seeming gone lost as the only thing visible was a hollow black space. But in actuality, his eyes hadn't gone anywhere in particular. They were perfectly intact though from his original eye colour, it had instead change to black. So black that anyone looking at it would assume just from the first look that the he had no eye.
But his wasn't the only one that had changed. No, looking at Dave now he had the same eye appearance as Zadin. But unlike Zadin who had maintained a cool composure still, Dave was the opposite as he looked practically lost. His hands had fallen to his side and his mouth partially left open.
"You will not remember nor speak of anything that happened here. Now ....sleep" arishna commanded and immediately Dave fell on the floor and just like that, he was sound asleep. And then Zadin turned to Jayden and his eyes had gone back to the way they were.
"Why didn't you kill him instead?" Jayden asked arishna .
"I did not spare his soul because I pity him, I spared his soul because I don't have to take it. What difference would a single soul do me out of the thousands I have taken?"...." Its also better to let the humans believe what they have always believed and that is that they are the most dominant force that roam this space. When the time is right, the truth will be taught to them and they will speak the truth with tears of blood as they swim in a pool of agony caused by their ignorance!! ". Arishna said.
" You are doing a good job with him" arishna said pointing at Jayden and no one else. This statement in itself would have been confusing if not for the already established fact which was that Jayden was not so normal anymore as he appeared to have a split personality. This was true to some extent but in reality, Jayden was actually possessed and the whole time the demon had been the one talking with the new mysterious figure that had appeared out of no where not necessarily Jayden to some degree.
"Its pitiful how he blames himself for the things that I do. His hate for life and the thirst for revenge is the purest I have ever witnessed and I'm more than happy to grow from it. But still he latches on to the little part of his consciousness. Soon...master... Soon I'll take over and engulf his soul and your once lost sin shall be fully reborn!!!" the voice speaking now was a mixture of both Jayden and the demon who was apparently referred to by the one in red armour as "Vergil".
"His father had an important role that he played but unfortunately, he had been killed . Now though, he will become even more useful than his father was. As my sin, you have all the powers you need for this next assignment. But first, you must become one and that can only happen in one place" arishna finished saying and then grabbed on to Jayden's shoulder and the next minute he had disappeared leaving behind a scorch mark of his feet and nothing else, not even Jayden as he had disappeared along.
But they might have left too much in a hurry as the next instant, a pair of eyes shut open.
"Oh Dave..." Hayley said.
