They had all received the last notification at the same time and it confused them a bit. But one person wasn't at all shocked by this. This might have been the first time the others were getting a demon reference but for Rodney, this was just another proof that same voice in his head wasn't lying at all. Nonetheless, they couldn't standby and think about the quest handed to them by the system, they had a plan to finish. And this plan was very simple.
After realizing who the three outside the cell were, they knew playing on their intelligence would be a walk in the park and they weren't wrong about that as they had managed to get them excited enough to actually fall for their perfectly laid trap. And this trap was in form of Corey, the boy with the green hair packed in a ponytail.
"In five to ten seconds you will all be on the floor" Corey said to the three in his cage torturing him. For one this came as a surprise to Orin, Tuffy and akira. They hadn't expected the sleeping substance to fade in its effect so quickly yet alone not work on these people at all. What scared them the most was that, if they were awake all the while, then it meant they had been taking all that beating without even twitching a bit to show pain.
Orin was truly terrified now. This was the second time they had done something that was out of the ordinary. What were these people really he thought. They had shown weird feats that should only be possible for someone at the master level like Damien himself. One thing was for sure, they weren't normal people he thought.
"What do you mean by..." Orin was about to say as he raised his hands to grab Corey by the neck but then suddenly the hand fell back down to his side. He looked at the arm weirdly in confusion and the others with him found his action strange. "Why can't I move my arm!!.." He questioned and then the next minute his legs became wobbly and he found himself on the ground. The others soon after lost control of their bodies and before they knew it they had already lost vertical base. And just like that, all three of them were on the floor not being able to move. This might have seemed weird for those that didn't know but to the legions, they knew what was happening perfectly.
The trap was very simple, they knew they stood a better chance of escaping with all them in on the game. So they planned their move telepathically, meaning there was no way for the trio to sense what was coming to them. The one thing the legions had learnt how to do the most is team work and they excelled at it. Knowing how their ability worked, the best chance they had at taking the trio down at once was with Corey, the boy with the poison ability.
The way his ability worked was a little different from the others. He could use any part of his body to charge his poison unlike the rest of them. So even with his legs and hands tied, he was still as dangerous as he would be with them not. While the trio went into each cell torturing and beating up its occupant, Corey was in his cell doing what he knew how to the most.
He thought of a variety of options to attack the three and finally settled for the one he knew would most likely get them all, his sweat. Being in the cell alone and with the position they were all in was enough to make them all sweat. So he release one of the many poisons he now had in his arsenal. It was important that he chose something that would kick in in a short time and have the desired effect that he wanted. So he picked one of the fastest he had in his bag, a paralysis poison that would paralyze its victim in a matter of seconds on skin contact.
The three unsuspecting boys thought they were beating up a vulnerable Corey while all along they were unintentionally poisoning themselves with all the contacts they made with their fists and palms. What even made the poison work the more was the number of times they had come into contact with it. There just was no escape from this one.
"What's the matter, can't you get up?" Blair said as he choked up in laughter. Finding their oppressors suddenly in a position they thought their current one was better than really felt like they had gotten some justice.
"What have you done to us?" Orin said as he struggled to get up but couldn't move his body. The feeling of helplessness soon over took him and he entered a panic state and began to scream as much as he could. But this, this would be all in vain as right now they were in an underground cellar designed to keep sounds like this from ever reaching the surface. And the next set of guards on duty were placed just outside the cellar's entrance and even they wouldn't hear anything.
"Shut up, you have been poisoned"Erwin said to the boys screaming on the ground. Immediately they heard this, they seemingly all stopped screaming. Now they were confused about how and when they got poisoned. All this just didn't make any sense to them. Just who were these people in the first place.
"You know, I'd save my energy if I were you. Very soon you might not be able to move your lips and we both need that" Corey said to the boys lying down on the floor in front of him. Blair at this moment was enjoying every bit of what was happening as he just wouldn't stop laughing and coughing in between.
"Eiko, why don't you help us out of these little situation" Rodney said and immediately Erwin knew just what the other was talking about. And he wasn't the only one, they all knew what was about to happen. They all suddenly became quiet and this scared the trio on the ground as they had no idea what these people had planned for them. The silence was getting to them and they just couldn't help it and before anything else they began to scream again but this time they had words to it.
"Please..please don't kill us!" Orin begged and the others followed as well saying all sorts of things to plead their case.
Tuffy went " it was all Orin's idea, hurt him but please just leave us two alone please". And not wasting time, Akira followed in support
"Yes, its all his plans. I'm just being forced, please let me be. Please!!"and followed up with the sound of sniffling. It was clear at this point they were all scared of what was to come. But then they waited and it didn't seem like anything was happening until they heard the sound of something clinging together.
This was the key and currently it was floating in the air and it had one travel destination alone, Eiko. While the boys begged for mercy more than ever, Eiko had other plans as he was doing his own part of the plan created by Rodney. His job was simply to grab the keys hanging on the cell door, though he could have done that a long time ago, he wasn't exactly a hundred percent after the stunt he pulled back at the male's lodge and feared he might have to contend with the three outside. This was why they had to use Corey in the first place to subdue the trio.
Without wasting time, Eiko made the key float to his side and went up to the chain locked and around his wrists and immediately began to undo the locks. Now this was the hardest part as he had to concentrate hard to put the key inside the key lock and then undo the locks. But this didn't take him too long and before they all knew it, the sound of metal hitting the wall was heard and one of his hands was free.
Now with the second hand, he went on to grab the key in the air and this time he easily unlocked the chain from his wrist. The strange thing was that the same key was being used to this many locks. Just what were the Hunters where thinking baffled them. Either way this was to their advantage and soon after he had his legs freed.
He took a few stretches and began to walk to his cell door and after opening it, he stepped out and walked to the next cell which was already opened as this was Corey's. He went up to Corey and very carefully avoiding contact with the other, he freed his fellow faction member as well. This went on and on and before he knew it they had all been freed, well except yang as his case was quite unique.
They had to ask the trio where the switch for whatever mechanism they used to lower Yang was. It didn't take too much convincing and they got their answer. They lowered Yang down and held him in place as they unlocked the chains suspending him. While they were setting Yang free, those that were holding him from falling face first as the chains didn't exactly get to the ground realized one thing. Yang's body felt really cold and this was not from any sweat per say, matter of fact, Yang wasn't even sweating like they were.
They didn't have the leisure to think about it much as it wouldn't do them any good. Time wasn't on their side and they couldn't afford to waste any of it. They went back to the cell that had Corey in it and were the trio still laid helpless.
"Now, our use for you three just isn't over yet". Rodney said and immediately and snapped his finger and Corey came up to the boys and immediately they began to shake the only body part they could, their heads.
" No...No...please " the boys begged as Corey got to work on them.
Meanwhile, in a different city located in another world entirely, the streets were awfully more quiet than usual. The usual busy and noisy suburbs had toned down it's activities as of late. This was all due to the frightening incidents occurring too often causing the citizens to live in fear. This was a city that had known peace for quite sometime now but things had drastically changed from one incident leading to another, this is the city of ZOA.
The people live in fear of the unknown as recently a strange band of assassins as the news had reported have turned the city into a chaos zone. No one felt safe again, as night was rumoured to be the usual activity time of these assassins. And tonight seemed to be one of them, although this time, the place it had targeted was already famous for the wrong reasons.
Walking inside the hall way of a tall building was a figure wearing a hoody. And if one was to look behind, there was a trail of destruction left where this figure had passed. One could probably go deaf from the loud siren the police cars that had been tumbled outside the building made. And looking around the parking vicinity of the building, there was a hole made on a giant sign and sparks were coming out from it. This sign was what remained of the small battle that had just happened at the parking vicinity. The only thing remaining of the sign that should have read "Wayne inc" now was "W...I..N" as a hole had been blasted through the sign.
And at the grand entrance or what was remaining of the grand entrance, a similar sight could be seen as the doors had been blasted through. The building was known to be the most secure structure in all over ZOA but whatever did this to it, made it look like it was nothing. Usually with such level of chaos the police would have arrived and they did rightfully so. But there was no sign of anyone of them around the vicinity anymore.
All that could be seen where destroyed properties, tumbled cars and body parts lying around the place. The scene indeed was a horrifying one and though this was done at night, the citizens around knew what was happening but all they could do was hide and pray they weren't next in line to experience this ungodly act.
Inside a tumbled police car that was currently on fire was a man, a police officer. In the mist of all the chaos, he looked to have been the only one that had survived the gruesome battle that just went down. He wasn't looking to be in a great shape as he had blood coming out of his mouth and nose, it was clear he was badly injured. And as he hung upside down with glass shads stuck in his skin and a metal piercing through the side of his abdomen, he reached forward to grab something.
After minutes of struggling, he had finally grabbed what he was desperately reaching for, a small communication device. As he grabbed hold of this equipment and brought it close to his mouth, he opened his mouth probably in an attempt to speak but instead of words, more blood poured out. He groaned and looked down at the side of his abdomen and could see the sight looking like a water fall only it was blood. He knew he wouldn't last long any more so he gritted his teeth and pressed a button that made a click sound and while holding the button still,a small red light appeared and he once again swallowed hard. One couldn't be sure if it was his saliva or more blood but either way he went on to say.
"The...the assassin...it's not...not a group. Its...jay.." He was about to say before the car he was in exploded with him inside. And standing just on the scene of destruction was the same hooded figure that had gone inside the building. And in the hands of the figure, was a large briefcase seemingly emitting a strange glow.
"This is just the beginning, they will all pay father" the figure said as it looked at a particular poster across the street on a light pole that had the face of a man on it. The famous late man, Mr Rogers.
