Chapter 10 - Final straw.

Mara woke up with a scream and Kara rushed inside looking for potential danger that she didn't find. She rushed to the princess to find out that she had had a nightmare. "Is my brother okay Kara, please tell me is he okay?" She asked desperately crying.

"Of course your highness, the prince is okay. He was just here hours ago to wish you a good night and went to sleep," Kara pat her back trying to call the obviously stressed princess.

Meanwhile word of the princess's scream about her brother had reached the guards out of his door. His guards wondered if they should inform him and they decided to lest he got mad at them for not doing it. He rushed into his sister's room after he was woken up and found her crying.

Kara made way for the prince who went to sit next to Mara who was wondering if he was real and started touching his face. "I had a nightmare Zeme. You were attacked by trolls and you-" she couldn't even finish her words not want them to come to life.

"It was just a nightmare Mara. I'm right here. I think it is because of the training you went through only to be thrown back in to the world of trolls and war. The stress is manifesting in your dreams. Tell you what, tomorrow I'll take you to our favorite resting spot so that you can rest. Okay?"

"Okay," she said. He tucked her back to bed and left after telling Kara to stay inside the room. The following day they went out to the pond in the forest behind the castle for her to relieve herself off the stress.

Two days passed and the demons came back. The deal was refused by the king but they were not surprised. They calmly left and waited for the events to unfold.

A week afterwards, Mara was seated with her father and mother in the throne room. She couldn't breathe at that point. When her brother was leaving for the central lands walls, she tried to stop him but he left anyway saying it was just a dream.

She recounted every single detail of her dream to her parents because however much she wanted to deny it, there was an uncanny resemblance between her dream and reality. Her parents also put it off saying it was a dream and she was stressed.

Well even they now we're starting to feel a little bit scared once the old minister started reporting about how the trolls had broken part of the central lands walls. He said it exactly as she had said he would. Mara could not contain herself knowing what report was about to burst through the door at any moment.

" Please father, you believe me now right. Call the prince Kiel. He will help my brother. I saw it happening. if you don't call them, Zeme is going to die," she begged tears tears flowing.

"We don't know if your brother is injured. He could be alrig-" his words were cut off when a soldier budged in reporting on the condition of the prince. Mara turned to her father and he told her and her mother to go to Zeme as he reached out to the demons now fully convinced that if he didn't, his son would die.

Kiel and Zan once again materialized in the room. They had straight faces as they already knew how the events would unfold. " We will help your son and kingdom as long as the princess is married to our crown prince," Zan said trying hard to conceal the excitement he was feeling at that point.

King Levy asked one of his guards to call Mara who came within a second covered in blood. King Levy could only feel sick knowing that was his own son's blood and it was just part of it. He decided to not stop his daughter if she decided to marry Kiel as his son would die.

Once asked, Mara agreed without giving it a second thought and literally dragged her soon to be husband to her brother's room. To say the other people in the room were shocked was an understatement. Kiel was shocked too as he did not expect he would be dragged by her and even shocked at himself who felt so good for that.

He immediately told the other people to leave the room. Only Zan, The king and queen and Mara were left. He immediately started working on closing up the gaping winds on his stomach, the flattened hand that had obviously been stepped on by a troll, his broken led and neck. He had been stepped on while getting his general out of danger.

They all watched in amazement as a red mist covered Zeme and once it cleared, his body started regenerating. Everything including his hair. They were awed to say the least. He started breathing normally and Kiel told them to give him a day to wake up.

"Zan go bring the death row to deal with the troll problem starting from the central land's walls," he turned to his right hand man and said. Zan immediately left to convey the order. He then turned to Mara and red mist covered her and when it dissipated, she was clean in a new gown.

"Your majesty I would like to know my soon to be bride if it is not too much trouble. I would like our wedding to be in the next two days. I would also like it to be small as in your kingdom right now, it would be insensitive to have a grand wedding after people have died or lost their kin right?" he asked for the king to nod and give them permission.

Before they left, Mara kissed her brother's forehead and Kiel couldn't help but feel a sting of jealousy in his heart but he reminded himself that he was her brother. But still.....

They then left the room. There was an award silence from them both. Kiel didn't feel it but Mara felt it tenfold. She couldn't also help but ask herself if she looked beautiful.

Kiel could hear her thoughts and suddenly told her she was beautiful. She was shocked wondering if he could read her thoughts and she turned red. Kara who had been following them was dismissed by Kiel and she couldn't do anything as he was her future husband.

"Do you have a special quiet place that you like that we could go," he asked her. She nodded and set off to the pond that she used to visit with her brother. It was beautiful place and now that it was spring, there were leaves of all colors floating on the pond. The bamboo trees surrounding the place were perfect as they let the sun rays pass but guarded one's eyes when they looked up.

There was also cleanly cut grass surrounding the pond. Kiel lay down on the grass and took in the peaceful environment. It reminded him of places they would go as a family when he was young. They were good times when his mother was in perfect health and his father did not have sadness marring his face all day and all night.

Mara stole a glance from him and wondered what he was thinking about. She took this time to drink in his features. He had very beautiful muscles that he didn't bother hiding. He had a very minty masculine scent that could literally drive anyone insane. He had a perfect nose and dimples. When she thought that she would be married to this alpha male, her heart beat faster. She wondered what she had done in her past life for God to gift her such a jewel.
