Chapter 9 - Can You Do It?

"Don't you want to sleep over, Papa?" I said as I squeeze my hands.

Well, he ignored me again. While earlier I thought he will be a little easy on me. If he just wants to send me money, it's a high-tech era, right? He just can transfer me.

If he came just wanted to make me expect something, I prefer not to.

Honestly, I wanted to say that. But seeing my father's face again just made me so happy, that's why I should hang in there, kept trying to start a conversation even if he kept ignoring me.

"No. Have you eaten?"

Actually, I had. But that good response made me nod right away.

"Not yet, Pa. Wanna eat together?" I answered enthusiastically.

"No, have dinner and else on routine. I'm busy, can't sleepover. Good night," Papa said then leave a slight kiss on my forehead.

Even just a slight, short kiss, the effect successfully made me want to cry because I was so happy. Thank God, for shit sake, I was super happy.

It's not a problem if Papa didn't want to have a sleepover, at least he got easier than usual. That's more than enough!

"I got it, Pa, good night ...."

Slowly, in a good mood state, I sent my father go. That half a century man went in his car and leave me behind.

Not like my father, my mother is way too different. A woman that gave me birth to this world really does think that my life is useless. Mrs. said I have siblings, but she totally didn't know their faces and name.

While they are my sibling, we were born from the same womb. Sorted in a grump, well then, however, I still have my hope on father left, right?

I was back inside the house when I felt the cold weather enough.

"Ekhem, how's that feel? Aahh, your face looks so happy, I see," Mrs. teased me while she clean up the table.

Hihi, it's not just happy, but super happy!

"What the hell?" asked me back as I hold my laugh.

It's just with her I can be like this. I can talk about my story as I wish, and share my problem without any worry about being hated or something. It feels comfortable having someone to rely on.

"Don't be so shy like that. I know that want to smile and your lips twitching like that would make it hard. Try a big smile like mine," that aunt mocked.

She even shows her smile which made me laugh of loud. Aish, she's for real, it's indeed just aunty who knows everything.

"For real, aunt," I said replying to her.

In the end, I decided to laugh. It's not like I'm with a stranger haha.

"But it's ten o'clock already. You better go to sleep, don't make any excuse can't sleep, I'm worried you might get late tomorrow," said aunty which is somehow true.

Even though it seemed vague but I managed to nod.

"That's right, tho, but maybe Riki will pick me up tomorrow? His helmet on me." I'm not sure where the bravery came from until I replied to her with that such confidence.

But, there's nothing wrong, right? Riki's helmet is really on me tho. He's the one at fault because he didn't take that off quickly earlier. Well, let's just say that he did that on purpose!

"Hihi, I'm sure he will. Since tomorrow you may ride a motorcycle, that's why you have to get to sleep quickly. It's not too interesting if you fall asleep on Riki's shoulder out of nowhere," said aunty.

Well, the way Riki left that helmet yesterday was just an error.

But if he did it twice, that's purposeful for sure. And that's no way if I go but stick up with him. This morning I was about fall to the ground because in rush, which was a relief he hold my body well.

"Aunty," I called.

"What now, Lady?" aunty answered that seem sick of it.

What the hell, I was just about to give her money for shopping. She sure just has bad prejudice over me.

"This, you can use this money for groceries for two months. Because all you talk is about Riki, you almost forgot right? That's why I told you to stop talking about him," I said that made a woman who takes care of me this far giggle.

"I'm sorry, my mouth just goes like that. Alright, good night, remember this thing before you sleep. Your father truly loves you, and you must study well!" Said aunty to cheer me up.

Haha, even though her face has such a strict look, I'm happy enough to hear that.

"Yes, I will," I answered then held her tightly as I said good night.

I thought this night I will have a proper sleep for sure after being a while I didn't.

And...

Ah, what the hell!

Usually, I woke up at three am. But I was so drowned in my deep sleep that I just woke up at half-past six. Even the time is enough to prepare but it felt too short.

I need to call Riki anyway because I was showered and done preparing anything at half-past seven! Argh, what a reckless. That'sriggt I need to have proper sleep, but it's too much if things go this way.

Heard the phone ring, and quickly I get off the house. I was so relieved to see Riki come with his motorcycle.

Riki squinted, even still with the helmet he burst into laughter.

"Do you afraid of being late? I got it why did you even call me. Here, do you need my hand to put on your helmet? Anyway, your face is so cold, why tho?" Asked him.

While asked, Riku pull my hands closer to him. He asked me to get closer when he felt that his hands can't reach my head to put the helmet on.

As he finished, I sit down on the passenger seat without waiting for him to ask.

"I woke up late earlier," I answered just realizing that he asked.

Again, Riki giggled. Well, this kid is kinda annoying as time passes by.

"You can say late if you wake up at this time. If you were you're late, I guess you might haven't finished preparing," he said making me pout.

He turned on his motorcycle. Because aunty was doing laundry, we didn't ask her permission for left.

"Well, it's still late, tho," argued me, didn't want to lose.

I heard that melodious laugh of Riki. He said the weather was cold, so he drives slowly. Well, we just need twenty minutes on the way tho.

"That was not late, dear. Anyway what time usually do you wake up, and what time did you woke up earlier?" He asked again.

And because the weather is literally cold, I put my arm around his stomach.

"Eumm, can I do this? It's cold?" I replied out of topics.

From the rearview mirror, we stared at each other. I felt at ease when he nodded surely.

"What time did you woke up?" He repeated.

"Half-past six, usually I wake up at three am. It's so annoying, you know!" I snarled remembering that this morning is the first time I did everything in the rush.

Usually, I do everything really slowly until sometimes I feel bored.

"Let that be an experience, Ta. It's fun being in a race with time, tho, sometimes we need to get out from our comfort zone," Riki replied.

When aunty said such a thing, I felt like I wanna grumble around. But, why did I accept that considerably when it's Riki?

"You kind of right, tho, or just because you frequently wake up late that you can say something like that?" I alleged.

Not expected, he laugh and said,

"Yup. That kind of time is too early for the boys. I usually wake up at six, haha."

Well, no wonder.
