"I hate you!"
"I hate you more!"
"No! I do!"
"Oh please, there is no way you hate me more than I hate you!"
CRASH
"Get out of MY room Rubie Elena Redcliffe Lodge! You go find your own room!"
THUD
Rubie let out a high pitched scream as her keyboard hit the wall loudly and there was a cracking noise. "That's it! I can't stand this anymore! Redcliffe Jeremy Rubie Lodge, we are NOT FRIENDS ANYMORE AND I WISH WE WEREN'T TWINS!"
"FINE! THAT CAN BE ARRANGED! I DON'T WANT TO BE ANYWHERE NEAR YOU WHEN WE GET TO STAR ACADEMY!"
"ME NEITHER! When we get to Star Academy, I'm asking Headmistress Starra to changed my room, house and class so I'm FAR AWAY FROM YOU!"
"FINE! I'LL ASK HER TO CHANGE MY NAME SO NO ONE FINDS OUT WE'RE RELATED!"
"FINE! ILL DO THE SAME THING! I DONT WANT ANYONE KNOWING IM RELATED TO THE SAD WEIRDO IN OUR YEAR!"
"I AM NOT A SAD WEIRDO YOU BITCH!"
"Oi! Language!" The twins heard their mother, Sandra, shout from downstairs. "And will you please stop fighting! You're scaring Anya!"
"Fine! I'm moving into the guest room by the way mother! Most of my stuff is already downstairs thanks to someone."
"You're welcome."
"That wasn't a than-"
Rubie sighed as the door was slammed in her face. She started walking down the stairs, and walked into her mother.
"What's this about you moving into the guest room?! Your Aunt Karen is coming to stay tomor-"
"Well I'm not going to be here tomorrow mother, so tell Aunt Kar that she can sleep in Redcliffe's room."
"OI! I HEARD THAT!"
"LIKE I CARE!" Rubie shouted back. She blinked back a few tears and sighed. Her mother raised her eyebrows and Rubie said softly,
"Mother, I'm going to need you to help me move my stuff into my new room since me and Redcliffe aren't friends anymore. We're also going to be starting afresh at Star Academy, with different names and rooms, so I'd really appreciate it if you could drive me with Anya and Dad could drive Redcliffe with Adam. Thanks. Also could you contact the school and ask if I could borrow a keyboard until I can get a new one. Can you also ask Redcliffe if he can bring my violin downstairs. Actually, I don't trust him, tell him I'll come up in a few minutes to collect it. Thank you, you're the best."
Rubie walked quickly down the steps, leaving her mother standing there shocked. Sandra walked into the living room looking dazed. Her husband, Jerry, stared at her concernedly.
"What's wrong dear?"
Sandra looked up nervously.
"I think we're both going to need to drive the older twins up to the school separately-"
Immediately, two shouts of "DON'T CALL US THAT!" Came down the stairs. Sandra sighed.
"STOP EAVESDROPPING YOU TWO! OR ITS BACK TO SHARING A ROOM!"
And then there was silence.
"What the fuck happened San?!" Jerry asked.
"I think the twins have disowned each other." Sandra said quietly. "And language! There are two 5 year olds in the room!"
"Actually mummy, we hear it all the time." Adam said loudly. Anya nodded.
"Yeah, Red and Rubie say that word all the time, and another word, bitc-"
Jerry threw his hand across Anyas mouth. She started laughing and Sandra groaned.
"KIDS! STOP SWEARING IN FRONT OF YOUR YOUNGER SIBLINGS FOR FUCKS SAKE!"
Jerry stared at her in shock.
"What?!"
"I know, I'm shocked too. Rubes asked if me and Anya can drive her to school and you and Adam drive Red to school."
"Oh. I meant about the swearing but WHAT?!Do you know why?"
THUD
They could hear Rubie whispering something in a threatening voice, and then the twins raised their voices a bit, but not enough to hear what they were saying.
"I think they're both just a bit nervous about going to a new school and just being known as a twin. It'll all be fine tomorrow, I'm sure of it. They'll spend the night apart and tomorrow they'll be acting like nothing happened. Just don't say anything, please. It'll all be fine tomorrow..."
CRASH!
THUD!
"RUBIE! MUM, DAD! COME QUICKLY! ITS RUBIE! HURRY UP! RUBIE? RUBIE!"
They heard Rubie groan and Redcliffe sobbing and Sandra sighed.
"This had better be over tomorrow."
THUD
After that there was silence. Sandra and Jerry looked at each other in worry before charging out into the corridor, where a whole lot of drama had taken place...
For there, at the bottom of the stairs, were Rubie and Redcliffe, both unconscious, with Redcliffe's head resting on Rubie's arm, both of them with tear-streaked faces, and broken bones...
