"Yeah, sure. I'll go teach Joan first. Anita, you should try practicing what I just told you about first," Owen said while handing the cue to Anita to teach Joan first.
Anita nodded without speaking when she heard Owen's words.
Then Owen followed Joan to the practice ridge.
"Joan, swing the pole first. I'll watch your moves," Owen said to Joan seriously.
Joan listened to Owen as she swung the pole up.
"No, Joan, you're not doing it right," Owen said, reaching for Joan's pole.
"You can't take the pole up with your hands. You have to triangulate the lever, and then your wrists have to move up first, and then, with your head between your knees, keep turning your back," Owen said seriously.
"Got it?" Owen asked Joan when he was finished.
"Oh yes, and make sure your back is turned fully," Owen added.
