Before either man could reach them, Daisy's parents called her and Kevin away to meet some important guests. Cameron breathed a sigh of relief as the couple walked off, unaware of the heated exchange that had just taken place.
But as soon as Daisy and Kevin were out of earshot, Ava snapped. She grabbed Juliet's arm, her grip tight and unrelenting.
"Don't you have any shame?" Ava hissed, her voice shaking with anger. "How dare you come here? Are you still plotting to take Kevin away from Daisy? To marry him like you planned before?"
Juliet's face turned pale, her lips trembling as she lowered her gaze to the floor. Her composed demeanour shattered under Ava's accusations. "Ava, it's not like that..." she began, but her voice faltered.
Ava tightened her grip, her voice rising. "Don't lie to me! I know exactly what you're capable of, Juliet. You tried to ruin my best friend's life once, and I won't let you do it again. Not now, not ever."
