Just then, Kevin spotted Nick walking down the hallway, his casual demeanour only adding to Kevin's growing tension.
"How's Ava's health?" Daisy asked Nick, still unaware of the true nature of their relationship.
Oblivious to Ava's hospitalisation, Nick replied nonchalantly, "She's staying with you, right? Why are you asking me?"
Daisy's expression shifted from astonishment to frustration. "Don't tell me you don't know she's unwell," she snapped, her patience fraying.
Nick shrugged, still casual. "Morning sickness is normal during pregnancy. You don't need to worry about it."
Daisy's frustration boiled over. "Do you even love my best friend?! Huh?!"
Nick blinked, caught off guard by her anger. "She's in the hospital, and you're talking like nothing's happened!" Daisy shouted. Kevin, sensing the rising tension, gently placed his hand on her shoulder, trying to calm her.
