As one week passed by, Ava tried to settle into a routine. Mrs. Thompson didn't allow her to do even small tasks, taking so much care of her that it was almost overwhelming.
Despite the kindness, Ava's mind often drifted to the past. The Thompsons were understanding, giving her space when she needed it and offering support whenever she seemed overwhelmed. Recognizing her emotional state, they wanted to help her come out of her pain.
One evening, as they sat together in the living room, Mr. Thompson turned to Ava. "Ava, we were thinking... would you like to join any job so that your mind can be occupied by some work? It's not good to be sad during this time."
Ava looked up, surprised by the suggestion but also touched by their concern. "I appreciate the offer, Mr. Thompson," she said softly. "I just... I don't know if I'm ready for that yet."
