Chapter 31 - Day 4 (21), The Talk (1)

---Group Chat: Cain, Dresil, Bob, and Rex--- (29,296ms)

Rex: Pft, you look like an alien in a pod right now. Also, how are you comfortable being naked in with the assassins here?

Cain: Dresil is making sure they stay unconscious. I also have the mana zone keeping track of any possible movements.

Cain: We'll be starting that talk now while I bathe. First, report the results of your tasks.

Bob: The hallway dimension is completed. Where should I set the exit?

Cain: I'll get to that later, Rex?

Rex: I managed to lower the temp of some gases to a hundred-ish Kelvin. At around 300K, the heat I gave off and the rate of which I could decrease the temp matched so I ended up learning how to convert heat into mana.

Rex: Wait, were you expecting this?

Cain: Sort of. Mana seems like a type of energy, so I assumed that you would be able to convert heat into mana. I'm guessing that's how you also lowered the temp of the water?

Rex: Yep. :error:

Cain: Wait, why do you not know how to do this before? Not to mention this, you didn't even know what a star was when I summoned you…

Bob: Rex is a recently born Spirit King, so he has yet to grasp all of his powers. He's been holed up in his domain focusing on increasing his fire power…

Cain :sigh: How old is he…? It's basic knowledge that having control over fire means having control over heat…

Bob: A few centuries old.

Cain: Dang, he really is a baby.

Rex: :cry_pain: That's basic knowledge for you. And how would you know? That's twice your lifespan.

Cain: Yes, if I was never introduced to mana. Also Spirit Kings usually live for a few 10,000 years, right?

Bob: Roughly. It depends on their power and any conflicts that very rarely happen. The youngest Spirit King to have died was 9,000 years? Something like that.

Rex: Are you even human? How did you know mana can increase your lifespan, not to mention how long our lifespan is? :sus:

Cain: Man… sometimes I question my own species. These were all educated guesses. It's not like they're all correct though.

Bob: True. Mana isn't just energy. It can also be force, gravity, velocity, etc. It's hard to put it into this language's terms, but it's essentially whatever the soul wishes it to be.

Cain: ...If you say any more about that, I'm afraid the scientists across the dimension will cause a riot.

Cain: Aight, let's get back on track. Bob, what can you do? I want to know everything, down to the smallest detail.

Bob: As you have seen so far, I can create dimensions, connect space with portals, and, as of now, edit spatial positions.

Bob: Before being summoned, I'd never would have thought about being able to freeze an object in space, quite interesting.

Cain: So can you manipulate gravity and use telekinesis? How about anything time related? Can you cross dimensions?

Bob: I'm afraid all three of those are out of my realm. Despite Spirit Kings being just a sliver away from being gods, there are still some things we cannot do without a few millennia of practice.

Bob: That was assuming we'd venture into it blindly. It's an unspoken rule that one's power must come from thyself, or else a huge favor would have to be paid to the lender. This is why Spirit Kings will focus on enhancing themselves without outside interference; since the level of knowledge and tutelage would require an astronomical favor to be repaid.

Bob: The only god that can manipulate time and use telekinesis naturally is the God of Balance and Dimensions; basically my forefather in the hierarchy. There have been cases of Spatial Spirit Kings acquiring the power to manipulate gravity or telekinesis, but these are very few in number.

Bob: Speaking of hierarchy, I can see and access any dimension created by a spatial spirit that's of a lower rank than me; so everyone. This applies to all spatial spirits. The only being capable of doing the same to me is the God of Balance and Dimensions.

Bob: He only does so if something interests him though; which is a very rare occurrence.

Cain: Hmm… Just in case, we'll have to include a note of some sort on the volatile dimensions (the ones with radiation and such) so nothing major happens. Will my knowledge be able to help you acquire the ability to manipulate gravity and time?

Bob: Yes. I was close to being able to manipulate gravity already, so I should be able to do so within a few weeks now. It'll take me about a year or so to touch the domain of time.

Bob: No favors are required to balance out the exchange since you summoned me. Just like my power is for you to use, so is yours mine. Most summoners lack any benefits for their spirits, so this is often overlooked.

Cain: Sweet, I'm too lazy to set up situations so a favor of that calibre can be put into use.

Cain: Is there a way for me to get telekinesis? Although I basically have pseudo-telekinesis due to the mana net, it's not the same. Also are there any places or dimensions that are affected by time manipulation in this major dimension? Whose mana is used when you use your powers?

Bob: You'd have to be given it by the GB&D. This is mainly because your soul is unable to observe the dimensions like spirits and gods can. It'd take several centuries to change your soul so that it can perceive the necessary things, then a few millennia to understand telekinesis through the origin.

Bob: There's one place that has time been sped up; it's in the nation of elves. There is a region cut off from the main dimension in that nation. It's basically a small world from the cultivation books you've read.

Bob: The time ratio is 100:1. So 100 years inside the dimension is 1 outside. To prevent the elves from becoming superior to any race, any particle of mana is consumed inside this dimension.

Bob: During a war between the elves and the demons a few centuries ago, a trickster god turned most of the elf warriors into babies and increased their fertility, leading to a baby boom among the citizens. Complete age regression; they had none of their previous memories or experience. Not even muscle memory remained. This made 85% of the elf population become babies less than a decade old.

Bob: Due the massive shift in balance this caused, the GB&D created that region with a ratio of 1000:1 to allow the elves to raise their warriors back up. They still needed to be outside to absorb mana and create mana circles, this caused a brutal shift in power occurred within their species.

Bob: Their warriors could use techniques and fight with a prowess of what a normal warrior 2 or 3 centuries older than them could (before the age regression) due to the disparity between physical training and mana cultivation. The only thing that limits them is mana.

Bob: As a gift for surviving that turmoil, the GB&D left the region there after changing it's scale down to 100:1. This would allow gradual balance to be restored between the war generation and the older generation.

Bob: I do not know how this region is managed now, although Veronica might. I sensed traces of this region on her being.

Cain: Huh… That explains why she didn't seem like she had much experience in the matters of love; too busy training and absorbing mana. It also explains her low mana circle despite being 10x older than her party.

Bob: The only times we use your mana are when we summon other spirits or need to manifest in a physical form. This is how most spirits fight, though you seem to be set on using us as supports.

Cain: Of course. It'd be too inefficient to have you guys fight for me when I can do whatever I want with someone once I tag them with my mana.

Cain: Alright Rex, your turn.

Rex: No please…
