Chapter 11 - chapter eleven

As the four sat at the large bonfire,Alice lost in thoughts, wondering why she was still fighting the curse after all this years, Ryder staring at the large fire, somehow expecting it to provide answers as to why life had taken such a traffic end, as to why he just had to loose all of his pack members to a mere girl, nevertheless , angry or not , everyone needs answers, now this old man who Maya explained as Gregory, the oldest, the wisest pack member,he knew exactly everything that was happening, it was part of the prophecy, a prophesy that was foreshown years ago...

Maya sat next to Ryder's, her hands entangled in his looking for a certain kind of warmth against the cold night, or maybe to be honest, she was afraid of Alice, the whole pack was dead because of her anyway, let alone her boyfriend.

Gregory sat at the far end, opposite to Alice, while Alice, was alone, at a bench, facing the fire, the silence was disturbing it was frustrating to both Alice and Ryder.. But to some, like Maya, it was a peaceful, it was some kind of insurance, or guarantee that Alice wouldn't give her neck bruises, like the ones she had already acquired..

They stayed like this for hours, nobody spoke, nobody said a thing, the pairs of eyes, focused on the born fire, as the memories of the people they'd all lost, came haunting back at them..

Alice suddenly got up, threw the stick she held in her hand and took of her hoodie...everyone startled, shocked, and puzzled..

Maya was already miles from them, running to the heels,

"Whoah...what the heck is she doing??" Ryder screamed, as Alice finished taking off both her shirt and her trouser, and stood before both men in only a strapless blue bra, and blue panties...

At a point, Ryder stared at her skin,..

glowing in the night of the sky

, her curves very tantalizing, her tummy was still visible, popping out allitle and showing the line drawn by the belt of her trouser...

nevertheless the less, there was a kind of sexy in her...a kind he'd never seen even in Emily, not only on her body, but also her face, the way the strands of her hair messily fell on her face, the way she moved around like she didn't give a shit whether or not she didn't mirror the models on TV's... She was perfect with her imperfections..

Alice had finally decided she needed space, away from the uncomfortable silence, away from the uncomfortable company, away from the eyes that judged her, away from the guilt, and the voices,

she wanted a way out of her own head, out of her own thought, out of the demons, that hosted themselves inside her.

. The only way to freedom from all of this was to turn into one of them,

And so...

She got into both her hands and knees, threw her hair backward, shut her eyes, and focused on one side of herself, her wolf side...

As the bones in her body ground together, her teeth rattled against each other, her blood boiled, like a certain kind of warmth, yet, a freezing warmth, as the fur grew on her back, she turned down her human hearing, blocked out the voices, of Ryder begging her not to have her way with this,

Gregory's words imprinting themselves in her mind, that escape wasn't the best policy, that they could figure it out, but she wasn't ready to give it another shot, there were a hundred and sixty-four creatures living inside, .... She didn't give a damn...

And finally, she was done with her transition, a dire wolf, the most extinct, something about her eyes gave her away, they protracted a certain kind of familiar warmth..

And when Gregory stared into them...his heart fell, his conscious maneuvered, he failed to believe, he didn't believe, was it her, her who he had spent years trying to rescue, the very that tamed the ferocious creature he once was...the spark in her eyes, that spark in the beautiful eyes of Alice was the spark that lives in her eyes...

Ryder was confused, he expected Gregory to convince her to change back, but he was taken aback by her wolf eyes, who did he think she was ..who was he comparing her to??

"You have her eyes, you have her beautiful sparkly eyes" he battered shaking on his spot in the remembrance of a great love they once shared with the one that held the eyes Alice portrayed..

Was he right anyway? About his hunch...his suspicions.. Maybe...just...maybe...

Meanwhile, Ryder was in a miasma of confusion, wondering whether or not to turn his alpha state, maybe then it would be reasonable to convince the wolf in front of him...

Maya was out of sight, like the scared little vampire she was... She wasn't an original anyway, not a true, she'd just been bitten, some months ago, by her egoistic boyfriend... Well, that's a story for another day..

"It is you.." Gregory spoke out..." you" he stammered again, his hands in his face, tears rolling down his wrinkled cheeks...

Both Ryder and Alice shared the same confusion..

"Amalia.." He finally spoke out causing Alice to immediately transform back to her human form.

The utterance of that word arose every sense in her, she'd looked for her, all over chainville, without success...and then here comes a man, an old man that knows her existence, you have some explaining to do Gregory, ...

And in an instant, she'd won her trousers and her Hoodie, she looked back at ruder, still with her wolf eyes and Ryder stepped back a little,

She finally set her eyes back at the old man, who was already in tears,

With the flick of her fingers, she dragged her vampire nails out of her skin, growled a little in agitation, and stared at the old man,

"How the hell do you know my mom??!"
