In silence, the boy refused to answer that question.

He kept staring at the ground, and both of his hands were behind him as he paced his feet up and up and down.

He couldn't quite stand still. Being asked about his magic was the worst-case scenario the boy could ever think of.

But in this situation, his choices were only limited to one option which was to say the truth.

Fooling the councilor wouldn't work when his first attempt was a fail after all.

However, he knew that if he revealed his magic here and now, he will be used as a weapon, or something dangerous, or as he was told by someone, perhaps his parents.

???: [Huh? Hey! Who's there? What are you down there?]

Calling out from the other end of the alley, there was a random passerby who appeared, carrying a lantern that would light the poorly lit alley with it.
