Hayden's POV
"What are you doing?"
I felt my brow raise at Logan as he jumped back from where he was standing. His back immediately straightened when he noticed it was me standing behind him and a sheepish look taking over his face.
I cocked my head to the side as I stared at him for a moment, but just as I was about to question him again there was some movement that caught my eye from behind him. When I turned my attention from the beta in front of me to the figure who was sitting on a park bench some meters away I was shocked to see that it was Amanda.
"Were you… watching her?" I asked him skeptically. The way his eyes widened and the way his heart began beating so loudly even I could hear it told me all I had to know about what he was doing here at the park during the middle of the way.
"It's not… I mean, it's not what it looks like–" He began to defend himself, but he stuttered through his sentences and made it less believable as he continued on.
