Chapter 3 - 二

It has been a quiet week and a half since Josh and Jaden met. chatting about their lives, Josh found out the difference in their respective generations, and how lavish a life Jaden lived. If anything it made him dwell on what kind of businessman Jaden truly was, driving the newest cars and having sexual experiences with models.

'So, it's finally happening huh?' Jaden came up from behind the empty hole. 'Yep, my glorious burial site. Beauty ain't she?' Josh would claim boldly, winking at his athletic friend of the past week and a half. 'Listen' Jaden would stutter out 'Don't expect too much alright? You're a ghost for a reason after all.' 'I know I know.'

Later that day the burial was about to take place.

Two lanky looking men, both at least of above-average heights approached with a casket. Josh wasn't heavy, but he was neither light enough to be carried in a casket so easily. He squinted his eyes, his face curling up as he eyed the scene suspiciously. 'What's got you so taken aback?' Jaden asked. 'My casket, how are they lifting It so easily? it's almost like--' he would be cut off by Jaden 'empty...'

The men lowered the casket into the hole, quickly working their hands at covering it up. About thirty minutes passed as bright lights sliced through the darkness, followed by two loud thudding sounds. 'You did well.' A man of short height stepped into the light as the two men looked at him with a silent nod. 'Got a light?' He puzzled, taking a large cigar out of his front pocket. One of the men would kneel to reach the shorter one, lighting his cigar to a puff of smoke.

'The money?' the tallest of the three men would finally speak, his voice cracking unpleasantly. 'Right right, of course.' The short one would reply, coughing out a bit more smoke as a large man would join the others, in his right hand a large briefcase. 'Half.' said the short man. 'Half?' the two taller men eyed one the other as if holding back a cackle. 'We agreed on a sixty-forty split.' Said the shorter of the two. 'Half or nothing.' The shortest of the bunch would reply, looking up at the largest of the bunch, presumably his bodyguard which stood behind him.

'Are you fucking shitting us? we are risking our jobs here for you Shorty! especially with a kid's corpse.' The taller of the men would scoff. Just as he did that, his head was swiftly squashed in between two large hands, his corpse dangling to the ground, fertilizing it with blood.

'There, problem solved. Now you get your friends half. so it's almost like a sixty-forty split right?' Shorty would cackle, calmly putting his cigar out on the dead man's bludgeoned face.

The bodyguard would leave the briefcase on the ground before escorting Shorty back to the origin of the light; A black sedan with tinted out windows.

'Holy shit! holy shit holy shit! tell me you saw what I saw!' Josh broke, looking up at Jaden. 'Relax. you're a ghost, crazier shit has happened to you.' 'Yeah, but he died! he just fucking killed him--' 'Josh, you're dead. you're a ghost.' Jaden would pause and look up at the stars above 'Though I'm sorry about your body and all. Will probably be sold to some rich asshole or dying terrorist on the black market.' 'My body?' 'No, parts of it for sure. maybe cannibals?' Josh would raise his eyebrows 'Really, cannibals? couldn't think of anything smarter?' 'Hey, like I said--Crazier shit has happened.' They both choked out a burst of soft laughter, settling their see-through butts into the feel-through grass.

'Hey, I know.' Jaden would raise his chin 'How about we visit an old shack I used to go to with my friends when I was your age?' He offered, standing up and stretching his nonexistent bones. 'Sure, I guess. why not!' Josh would sheepishly reply, getting up as well.

'So, will you finally tell me the truth?' Josh questioned, attempting to spit; quickly granted with failure. 'Of what?' Jaden replied, placing both hands behind his head as they walked through the forest. 'You. there's no way you're just some businessman.' 'Buzz off.' Jaden raised his voice. 'Why? What's so embarrassing abo--'

Josh was then hurled into the nearby tree, feeling no impact but the two clenched fists grabbing his ghostly shirt 'I said. Buzz off.' The athletic ghost let go of Josh's collar, straightening his jock-jacket before looking ahead of them, stopping in place, as if frozen.

'Josh . . .' He would order 'Run.'
