The rest of the day went by pretty quickly for Misa and Sheryl. Miss Salsa wasn't mad at them for being late, and once they explained they were late because they'd performed in a traffic jam and been approached by Ms Duster, she was delighted.
"Wow, girls, that is an achievement," their teacher had said happily. "I'm so proud of you both! Especially you Misa, I'm glad to hear you hardly hesitated when going into the road to perform. And Sheryl, you managed to stay calm and not get overexcited and injure anyone. you both really have grown to be an excellent dancer. I just know that you're going to get into the academy. I can't wait to hear about it, you'll have to tell me all about it tomorrow. Now, please take your positions in front of the class."
They started learning a new routine to 'Wave' by Brooke Butler (which Sheryl and Misa were ecstatic about), and afterwards headed to the head teachers office to ask if Ms Duster had called him. He actually got the phone call when they were leaving, and agreed that Sheryl and Misa should go to the entrance at the beginning of fifth period.
The rest of the day was a disaster, they were completely unfocused and kept on getting in trouble.
For period one they had science and accidentally caused a mini explosion and the class had to be evacuated.
For period two they had English and accidentally cracked a pen open and dropped it, which soaked into the carpet, leaving a stain and an awful smell.
During Break, Sheryl got into a fight with some students because they pushed her off the pavement onto the drain and her outfit got ruined.
For period three they had Drama, and Misa went a bit too over the top and accidentally hit her arch enemy, Mary-Anne Richter, in the face, knocking her unconscious. Meanwhile Sheryl tripped over and pulled down the curtains.
Then for period four they had History, and their class went on a walk around the village. Misa accidentally destroyed a poster of The Vampire Diaries that had been signed by the whole cast after finding out that the town founding family had changed the name to Mystic Falls when the series came out. It was on display in the museum, and Misa nearly got her family and the school sued. Then Sheryl got into an argument with the owner of the museum and they both got banned for life.
Then during lunch, Sheryl tripped and pushed Misa over, who dropped her lunch tray over the banister, and it landed on the headteacher.
Basically, Misa and Sheryl made a lot of trips to the headteachers office that day.
"Ugh, this is so unfair." Sheryl said loudly, walking down the corridor towards the headteachers office for the eighth time that day. "We didn't mean to make so many mistakes today, we've just been distracted. And how could we not be?! We've been offered the chance to audition for our dream school!"
"I know Sher, but still. We caused a mini explosion, stained the carpet of the English room, got into a fight, hit Mary-Anne in the face, pulled down the curtains, destroyed an ancient map of the castle in Wales, got banned for life from the only museum less than an hour away, and covered the headteacher in tomato soup and chocolate ice cream. And that's all today! Imagine what we'll be like waiting for results! I wouldn't be surprised if we got banned from going to the auditions."
"Well, I can understand your thinking, Misa Anne. But that isn't going to happen. I've made sure of that." Said a familiar voice. The girls turned around in shock.
"Ms Duster!"
"Hello girls, I see you've had a very productive day."
Misa sighed.
"I'm so sorry Ms Duster, I was just so excited I wasn't concentrating. I didn't mean for any of this to happen."
"Me too." Sheryl agreed. She sighed and looked down. "If you want to stop us from auditioning then we completely understand."
"Oh don't worry about that. I've paid a rather generable donation to allow you both to audition still."
The two girls continues to stare at her in shock, which caused her to laugh.
"B-but why would you do that?" Misa asked. Ms Duster smiled.
"I see great potential in you two, and I think you have a great future ahead of you. The Academy was created to encourage students to persue careers in Dance, or music, or drama. To help those who are to afraid to go out into the world and show em what they got. I don't want to let a bit of unfocused behaviour stop you from auditioning. Besides, the academy can help with that. There are lessons about how to stay focused, as that can be quite important in the world of the dramatic arts. Now, come along Misa Anne and Sheryl Ann, the car is outside. We need to be there half an hour early so you can pick out your outfits and rehearse. Is that okay?"
"Yes Ms Duster" Sheryl replied happily. "Thank you, this means so much to me, that you think me and Mis have the potential to be good dancers."
"Now, don't be ridiculous Sheryl Ann. Not good dancers." Ms Duster said quietly, frowning. Sheryl sighed, and Misa looked down at the floor nervously, expecting the worst. However, Ms Duster only grinned and said softly into the silentness of the school corridor,
"You have the potential to be great ones."
