[Imitating the Appraisal Gem's feature_
[Installing the new feature to Project Sephiroth_
[Installation complete. My database might not be able to process emotion perfectly, but I'm feeling conflicted that the world didn't acknowledge my existence.]
Jack held his breath to preserve his lack of emotion. Deep inside, he was mixed on whether to laugh at Sephiroth or cry inside because the world perceived that he had a mental illness.
Although it might be for the best for their current situation. Especially when nothing was revealed from the darkness of mystery.
This event alone had helped Sephiroth to know one thing.
"Yay!" Vea put both of her hands to the air. "My name will be engraved on the Hall of Discovery! More perks for me to collect!"
She then glanced at her party members, grinning from ear to ear.
"Darn it!" The staff-freak dropped to his knees. "If only I were obliged to use my Appraisal Gem. The perks from the Hall of Discovery matched really well with my magic-gatling build."
Jeffon tried his best to hold his laughter. "Imagine regretting on whether to use your Appraisal Gem when you had it. Couldn't have been me~"
Meanwhile, Nurul the knight had her sword in the air pointed at Jack. "A-All Psychics must die!"
"Whoa whoa whoa!" The staff-freak used one of his staves to shift the sword's direction and swiftly block the knight on her path. "Calm down! There won't be any tornado being thrown around like back then. Besides, you're pointing your sword at a child!"
"Yeah, what the hell, Nurul! That kid's level is, like, below the average monsters in this area."
Jeffon joined the staff-freak to block Nurul. "Well! That kid sure is one of the monsters but it hasn't done anything to us! Yet!"
In the middle of the chaos, Jack's wounds were completely healed. His arm had also fully regenerated. Everything was as good as new.
"Don't mind those freaks over there, sweetheart," said one of the freaks who casually brought a four meter flagpole on her back. "Hm… Now let's see if I can come up with something cool for your species' name…"
"I appreciate the help, little miss." Jack nodded in agreement.
"Aww! Your voice is beautiful too! Can I take you home?"
[A seemingly young girl is inviting you to her home, Jack. I didn't calculate that you'll be such a player at that age.]
'Shut up!' Jack cleared his throat. "I'm afraid that I'm going to reject that offer for now, miss."
"Eh? Why not?" Her hand moved on the holographic keyboard that floated in front of the Appraisal screen notification. "Done! Your species from now on will be Mollusian!"
<
[Now we know how the creature on this world is named. It seemed like these Players are really the driving force of this world.]
'Sephiroth, I want you to Appraise the four of them. I'll see the data later.' Jack then furrowed his eyebrows, trying to see if he could deal with the clingy little missy that beamed her smile right in front of his face.
"Now burn that thing!" Nurul shouted as she was restrained by Jeffon and the staff-freak on the glade. "Don't let those wretched creatures deceive you, Vea!"
"I think you're crossing the line of racism, Nurul." The staff-freak maintained his deadpan.
Just as when things couldn't go even worse, a giant gelatinous cube emerged from the dense forest.
<
[What's with these notification wordings!?]
"Look!" Jeffon rotated Nurul's head to switch her hatred onto the new guest. "You can unleash your anger on that thing instead!"
"I can?" Nurul asked innocently like a child who was still in denial when given great things. "I can rip and tear?"
""Yes!"" Jeffon and the staff-freak said simultaneously.
"Hurrah!"
Before the two men could even release their hold over the enraged knight, they were already being dragged into the slime's general direction. Their feet had already accidentally uprooted a decent pile of soil and grass before they finally unleashed the bull to their enemy.
Nurul sprinted like a madwoman until she jumped and summoned a giant sword ten times the size of her own. With flaming eyes and a very loud warcry, the knight hurled the giant sword at the Cube Slime.
'Is that even a knight!?' Jack thought as he smiled awkwardly. 'That thing's more of a berserker!'
[I really thought that the knight to be the most mature and calmest of the bunch. Turns out, first impressions aren't enough to determine someone's personality.]
The sheer attack from the 'Berserknight' was deflected by the rubbery nature of the Slime Cube. It was propelled back and now the giant sword was coming towards the other party member of the back.
"Shit! Run everyone!"
Jack immediately took the surviving jagged blades and decided to watch over from the side.
"Turns out the slime has some sort of physical attack deflection ability," said the staff-freak as he became one with the soil. "Well, it's a level 311 Cube Slime after all."
"Sheesh!" Vea took the flagpole from her back and held it like a weapon. "I'll buff your attack. Jeffon, go try to see if that jello has any weak points."
"Okey dokey~!"
The battle surprisingly took more than half an hour to finish. The giant slime had so much up on its sleeves that it forced numerous revives on the party members and even debuffed them into being unable to use magic. But with the power of weird liquid drugs of numerous colors, the party members managed to offset the frightening curse by stacking their statuses to counteract it.
The giant jello exploded into tiny bits, in which they began to collect for various purposes.
"Phew." Jeffon stretched his arms. "That is rough. At least we have enough Slime Essences as materials and for selling."
As the party members began cleaning themselves from the icky goo and slimes, Vea flicked the excess guts off of her stark white flag before realizing one thing.
The Mollusian had disappeared.
