The whole hall was littered with brutally mutilated bodies of the dead. They were all big and armed, seemingly trained in a hundred martial arts. But now, they looked like a horde of beasts ravaged them all.
Saki could not breathe, her chest felt hot and heavy.
When the sea of death of blood ended, Johan stood as still as her. His eyes were upon his sister, and Saki saw his face carry actual emotions for the first time.
The torment was clearly reflected, and his eyes were moist.
Yet he said nothing.
Nor did he cry even though he looked on the verge of it.
The boy was young.
But then, slowly… his eyes lifted to meet hers. The light blue in his gaze turned a shade darker, and as if the air-dropped cold by that mere glance, Saki shivered without realising.
And for a short moment, her mind and vision went entirely blank. A wave of frost passed through her blood and bones.
