In front of him, a wretched-looking young man broke off more than half of the loaf of bread in his hand and handed it to an eager little boy beside him, muttering in his mouth: "You'd better put all of this stuff away before I come to regret it. Consume it."

Alex had the sudden impression that he had been surrounded by him ever since he had arrived in Equatorial City, and that the ubiquitous aura of oppression and gunpowder had vanished. Alex appeared to have taken off a large amount of armor from his body at this point. Alex experienced a sense of relaxation that he had never experienced before, despite the fact that he was exhausted, hungry, and cold. Like I'm still in the capital city, just returning from a night out with my friends before the Sun Crisis, or like I'm still in the capital city before the Sun Crisis.
