Ray looked at himself in the mirror as he wrapped one half of a dark shawl on both his forearms. He had now changed into a black T-shirt and thick blue jeans. He had also put on a grey jacket which had a little padding on the shoulders. Though he felt it was crazy to wear such heavy clothes in the heat, he would rather improve his chances to survive than wear for comfort. He carefully lifted up the cricket bat with the nails and held it in both hands. He gave his reflection another glance before striking a pose.
'Cool.' He thought to himself, unable to suppress a smile.
Thankfully no one else was around to see him shamelessly praise himself. He gave the cricket bat a test swing and found that his shoulder didn't hurt as much anymore. He tried another swing, this time with more force and that cause his wound to sting. Ray hissed and put the bat down before clutching at his shoulder.
"Controlled swings." He reminded himself, "I need to go for controlled swings."
