Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2

Laurentia is not what I had pictured at all.

You would guess a place where wolves secretly lived would have woods mostly, village like even. This place is beautiful.

The town has old architectural features in it but you can see modern touches. I can see coffee house where it looks like a lot of teenagers hang around. There is a bakery that's so inviting I'm thinking that will be my first stop when I go to town. There are restraints the ambience eve from outside looks so inviting. It's a really beautiful town.

My dad drives through and we start going towards the suburbs. I roll my window down to enjoy the feel of wind on my face. Its peaceful here. I take a deep breath and look at the greenery that seems to stretch for miles and is met by a forest line. I love it here already

." How is it looking" my dad asks me

" I love it already"

my mom turns towards me on the backseat" wait until you se the house . You will fall in love"

I smile and turn towards the window to enjoy the view. I'm met with the most sparkling green eyes I've ever seen looking at me. Wow. Is everything in laurentia beautiful, even the people who live here. The boy riding the bike passes and I turn to face him through the back window of my dad's car to see him wave at me. I turn back and smile. This is going to be so good.

When my mom told me I would love the house she missed to tell me I would completely fall in love with it. It's absolutely beautiful.

It is one of those houses you see in a movie and wish you lived there. There's a long driveway that is lined up with pine trees that curves before you reach the house. Just in front of the house a huge fountain that has a stone carving of a woman holding a pot pouring into the fountain. The house is an old Victorian design with a touch of goth in it. There are high windows and three balconies from where i stand. On my right I can see a breathtaking garden well maintained with flowers and a sitting area.

This place is magnificent and also rich. I knew we were well off I didn't know we were rich so that's confusing.

"What do you think?" my mom comes to me all smiling

"mom, you didn't tell me we were this rich" I jokingly tell her.

"Well what do you know…this is our family home. It has been since 1700 from what I can remember."

My dad comes from the other side of the car, "she grew up here and when we married we decide to move to new York and start our life differently" he tells me.

"I'm impressed."

The big wooden door opens and a woman in her fifties comes out. She's short and has white hair with a friendly smile.

" You have come…ooh you are so beautiful the pictures didn't do you justice" it's my grandma rose

" Hi grandma " we hug each other and I feel so good.

She smells of citrus and a very expensive perfume

" Jefrey my son" she hugs my dad

"Martha darling how I have missed you. Welcome home. Come in"

She tells me to leave the bags someone will take care of them and I start wondering if this house has a butler because that would complete the narrative it has going on. My grandma shows me my room and I get settled in. so far so good. Now all have to worry about is being the new girl in the new school I'm enrolling next week.

Later that evening I decide to explore a bit and I ride my bike out. This place is peaceful. I have small recollections of it when I was young but so much has changed.

I'm so much engrossed in my thoughts I almost miss the feeling of being watched. In look around but I don't see anyone.I still don't see anyone until I crash on someone

"watch it"

I fall because of the impact and look up to see who I just crushed into.

My breath gets knocked out of me. I want to say it's because of the fall but I would be lying.

Tall with midnight wavy hair that made me want to run my fingers through. His lips are the color of strawberry which should not look so good on a guy. His lower lip was plumper than the upper lip.

My eyes finally met his and they were the most distinctive eyes I've ever seen. One eye was hazel the other the color of moss. He was so gorgeous it hurt.

"If you are done checking me out I would love to continue with my day"

what!

I try to stand p that only makes me look clumsy and that's the last thing I want to look in front of this rude beautiful creature.

" Sorry I hit you….hi I'm Eveline. My friends call me Eve…"

"I know who you are."

My mind was all over the place I was fighting so hard to get a calm composure I almost missed what he said.

"How do you know me?" he smirks and I'm starting to wonder if there's anything this guy can do that would even remotely look bad in his perfect face.

"Where were you headed?"

"Nowhere in particular…I'm just roaming around"

" get in..i know around" in moments of embarrassing myself I hadn't noticed he had a jeep parked just beside the road.

"Nice ride"

"Thank you" There's the smirk again

"I can't just leave my bike beside the road" he looks at me as if I wasn't making any sense

"you can park it here.. this is my estate entrance no one will touch it" okay then.

I get in the jeep and now that we are in close proximity he smells so heavenly . Like a rainforest with notes of wood .I have never been in a situation I feel intimidated by a boy before and it wasn't good.

"Relax new girl. I don't bite….mostly" oh god. what have I gotten myself into.
