When the sun goes down, my head starts to ache like cracking my head open. I got this headache since my family got into an accident. It was a terrible accident that the car almost turn into a crushed tin can. They said it was a miracle that I was even alive after the terrible crash that both of my parents perished at the same time. I can't fully remember the day of the accident. The only thing that I remember was before the accident happen.
It was a sudden downpour, coming from a restaurant downtown and we are heading home. Cruising along the road slowly when suddenly, a struck of light shone on us then the screeching of the tire was heard after. The blurry vision, blood slowly pouring into my squinted eyes that are slowly closing that I could only remember and the other we're hazy memories that I can't remember. ever since then, I had this terrible headache, but it become more frequent after the coming age, the age of 21.
I was living in my grandparents' house since I don't have my parents. they adopted me and raised me on their own. They are both lovely and awesome grandparents. provided me the needs even if we're in a difficult position to raise a kid on their age. My grandparents are lovable and caring and I easily get over the accident. But I won't burden them anymore. I didn't tell them about the frequent headache since I can tolerate it.
They said I was mature for my age that I can fully assess my needs if my grandparents weren't around. But after the coming of age, the headache is more intolerable. I can't fully work due to a headache. I went to a doctor to check my head, but the result came out nothing, I was living a healthy lifestyle without bad habits that were noxious to my body and mind but soon, I found out to lessen the pain.
It was simply to take a nap or sleep. The headache slowly disappears as I lay down my body in the bed slowly fall asleep but something unexplainable event had happened. As I slowly fell deeply asleep, weird dreams appeared. It wasn't like lucid dreams, nightmares, or sleep paralysis. It was something different.
It was like looking at the past of a certain person or should I say vision of a person. These visions aren't the same every sleep.
If I was to summarize all the visions. I would say a vision of a thousand's people.
But there was a vision that is prominent on every vision. A powerful man that can control the tide of the battle but even with the abilities of the man it ended with failure, mistake, and regret. But three visions fully resonate with me. As if it was my past that I can't forget no matter what.
It was a vision of a soldier, a war in between the Middle Ages. Corpses piled one another creating mountains that reek of rotten flesh and nesting of flies. Blood spilling through their metal plate armor, slowly dripping to the puddle of muddy water, mixing within it.
Then a sudden downpour of rain. The explosive roaring of thunder soared throughout the sky. Raised hand in front, trembling in the deeds that he did. Dropped to the knees then the vision suddenly looks on the dark clouds above.
*huff…. * huff….*
"******!?" Shouted to the tips of the lungs, shouting something while staring at the dark cloudy sky. But the word was mudded with a hazy sound that rendered inaudible to the ears.
Who is he calling? He keeps shouting at the tip of his lungs.
"I failed you once, let you've down but I'd never abandoned nor never did question the mission that you've imparted to me. But… how can you do this to me?
The rumbles of the thunder and rain patter from the heavy downpour can only be heard.
"Why won't you speak to me!?..." Shouted again with anger.
Rainwater keeps thrashing to his face, wiping off the blood smeared on the face. Staring deeply in the dark cloudy sky.
"I've done everything you've wished for, why you'd forsaken me, ******!?" slowly lowering the head, looking at the ground. grabbed the muddy dirt with hands soaked in blood, and he clenched it hard.
Then suddenly, a loud clear voice was heard.
"Don't worry, He knows… you just have to believe him…"
The vision of man looked around the surroundings as if he was looking for the source of the voice.
"Impossible, ***** already gone. How come I can still hear ***?"
But the sudden voice has raised the spirit of the person and started going on his way. The voice bothered me. As if I already heard the voice but can't seem to recall who was it and the feeling that I need to find that person.
The vision was almost engulfed in wars. Countless days and nights, countless sieges, countless life perished in front of the vision. Civilization emerged and turned to dust by the ages. Forgotten by the passage of time something bothers me as if the man was trying to protect something that was deemed unprotectable.
After countless visions I fully understand. He was trying to protect the people but was puzzled on where to side since humans keep raging wars on one another.
one night, another vision appeared.
"Are you toying with my heart, and mind? Is this your punishment to me?" Looks up in the sky with anger and resentment in his eyes.
"Is this because of my mistake from before? ******! Why won't you speak to me?"
The man grows tired and slowly losses his abilities in battle. As if he was drained until an illogical event had happened in the visions.
Another vision had appeared. People with power started to show up. There were witches and wizards that modern society deemed illogical and impossible. But with the vision, I think there were real. A power that controls elements. Exude dangerous illusions that can trap you forever or power that can heal wounds.
But the man in the visions had cruel fate and destiny. A person keeps appearing, but I can't seem to grasp the induvial as if shrouded around with a mist, stifle voice that you can't completely comprehend. I can feel that the man in the vision cherished this person, but fate works in different ways, the person he always met always perishes in his arms even if he had powers, he can't save the person.
"Please…. No… no no no… You can't leave like this. I can't handle this anymore… Please" the vision was full of tears. That I can barely see.
The man carries this person in his arms. The vision suddenly looks up in the sky.
"Please ******, if you are hearing this? Please… Please… just this once… even if you take my life…. I'd gladly do so…. Just please… ******?" The man dropped to his knees. Clothes smudges with blood.
Then the person slowly reaches to the face and caresses one last time until the person didn't have the energy to do so.
"No!..."
It was the last word that I heard. I woke up on the bed staring at the ceiling. It was morning already, but tears fall slowly down my cheeks. Look like the vision wasn't simply vision. It was something else.
I pick up my pencil and grab the sketchbook but when I stare at the blank paper. I don't know what I was doing. as if it was to remember something but forgot.
"I don't want to forget... forget what? What was I doing? why am I holding a pencil?"
but something changes, every time I go look at the vision. In the ending, it was the same scenario where he have to save something but failed every time as if it was telling him something, and every time I had to look at the vision something inside of me changes.
