Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

I couldn't believe it. My new friend was dating my twin brother.

"You know Carlos?" Carla asked in surprise. She suddenly looked a bit nervous. "You aren't, like, an ex-girlfriend or something, are you?"

"Ew, gross." I heard through the phone. I waved my hand at the screen and laughed.

"Honestly Carls." then I turned to Carla and smiled awkwardly. "No, um, Carlos is sorta, err, kinda, well..."

"Ooh, plot twist!" Aggie squealed and sat down eating popcorn. Carla continued to stare at me, her long blonde curls floating delicately in the wind as she got more and more confused.

"...my twin brother."

"WHAT?!" Aggie squealed. She picked up the phone and started speaking excitedly.

"You're Carlos! Allie's other best friend! Omg I can't believe you're dating Allie and I's new friend! EEE!"

Carla looked even more confused as she stared at me. I felt really nervous until she suddenly grinned and threw her arms around me.

"Ohmygod! I can't believe it! You're my boyfriend's twin sister! I've heard so much about you! Ooh, I was sure we were going to be good friends anyways but now! It's like our friendship was meant to be!"

"Uhmm, okay? Carla-I can't breathe."

"Oops." She pulled away immediately and smiled sheepishly. "Sorry."

I smiled at her and held out my hand.

"It's okay. Let's start again. I'm Allis Jude Anna Mary Crossford, but I'm called Allie by everyone and Als by my close friends. I am the youngest of 18 children and I am a quadruplet. I have two twin brothers and 1 twin sister, but in have 9 brothers and 8 sisters. Nice to meet you."

Both Aggie and Carla were staring at me in shock now. I could practically hear them thinking seventeen siblings?!

After a few moments, Aggie stepped forward and placed her hand on mine.

"My name is Argentina Julianna France, but I hate the name Argentina so I go by Agatha instead. I am an only child and . . . I'm not even supposed to be here." She quickly grabbed Carla's phone and hung up before continuing. "My father doesn't have much money and my mother doesn't think music is a ladylike profession. They split up when I was seven and my mom stole all Dad's money. Now he's in a home for the poor and underprivileged while my mom's one of the richest people in the world and is friends with lords, ladies, duchesses, princes, lots of high-class people. My-My Dad is ill, and he needs money because the home he's in can't afford the hospital bills, but mum refuses to pay for them. So, it's up to me. And to earn money, I need to be able to put on a show. But if my mom finds out I'm here, she'll come straight from NYC to take me back home.'

Now I was the one who was shocked...again.

"Wow, Aggie, I'm so sorry. I hope your mother doesn't find you. I would offer some money, but my family doesn't have much either. It's hard paying for 18 kids to dress, eat, bathe and also learn. It probably costs my parents hundreds."

"It's okay, Allie." Aggie said quietly. She turned to Carla. "Well, best friend's twin brother's girlfriend, what's your story?"

Carla sighed and hesitated before placing her hand on top of ours.

"My name is Carlisle Matthew James Cameron. My parents wanted a boy, but instead they got me. They were hoping I would decide I was a boy or something. But I've always known I'm a girl, and I like that I am. But my parents don't. M-My-A year ago, my father killed my mother because she wouldn't give him a son. He-he made me watch her being killed."

"How very Henry VIII." Aggie interrupted. I giggled before pulling Carla in for a hug.

"You don't have to tell us anymore if you're not comfortable."

"No, it's fine. I-I need to talk about it. I've been holding it in for so long. My mother had just accepted that I was a girl and there was nothing they could do about it. So, she started getting to know me, to spend time with me. We became friends. And then . . . My Dad was a huge fan of the Tower of London during Tudor times. He-he was a historian, and h-he had her executed in front of our entire village. Her head landed right in front of me and she whispered 'I love you darling Carla' before she was killed. Dad was arrested on the spot of course, he was taken to an Asylum in Scotland so that he was far away from me. Meanwhile, I was sent to an orphanage, where people made fun of me because of seeing the live footage of my mother's execution. The only nice person was Eugene, he was really kind and understanding. He listened to my story and he helped me get through it. He also helped me escape so I could come here. My parents had put me on the waiting list for the same school your brothers are at, Als, because they wanted me to be a boy. I knew once I got there, I could transfer to a girls school. But the orphanage wouldn't let me go, said it was an issue of money. I broke into the bank and got some of my mothers money that she wants me to inherit when I'm 14. I said goodbye to Eugene and got the bus most of the way, then walked half a mile. I was so exhausted I ended up staying at Carlos' school for a few days so I could rest, then I got a limo here."

"Wow, you guys, I'm so sorry!"

"It's okay," Carla muttered, sighing happily. "I'm just so glad to be here and make friends."

"Well, I'm sure we're going to be great friends." Aggie muttered. The three of us grinned and wrapped our arms around each other, walking down the corridor to our next lesson. Charlotte-Rose tried to trip me up halfway down, but I stood on her foot and she screamed.

"Nurse! Nurse help me, I was just brutally attacked! NURSE!"

Me, Carla and Aggie giggled and I smirked.

"I love revenge."
