The sky is so beautiful, after twenty years I finally see it again, the sun twinkling in the sky shining on my face, the rays soothing and easing my body, the floating clouds above like giant candy floss drifting above me, so sluggish and relaxing, it's also been twenty years since I've slept on a bed, although I managed to find a ram monster on the 119th floor, it was so nice but that was ten years ago now,
I stepped into the four-metre radius and awoke the boss.
It was huge the scales cascading down the back like a rock slide, the shining leathery segments like an ice sculpture in front of me, giant stretched wings pushed massive hurricanes of wind as it launched in the air. The terrifying fangs spilled out of its mouth the indenting skin pushing to the green eyes each peering at me. The dragon was a dark blue colour the chilling zephyr spilled from its almost ghostly form.
My hand gripped around the sword, the iron was chipped and dirty but still held its form. My eyes were blank, staring up at the dragon with a blank stare. With three steps I was underneath the dragon, its jaws opened, chilling gas spilling from its fangs like liquid nitrogen. The cold was almost sharp, but I still jumped, my feet tensing and then rocketing into the air, the ground underneath cracking and breaking as I jumped up to meet the dragon, its large body floating metres in the sky. I stretched my arm into the air the fist slamming into its head and knocking it out of the air, but before it could recoil my hand grabbed its mouth my hands freezing and burning from the intense cold, but I managed to wrap my hand around a tooth dragging the monster back to the earth and slamming it into the ground. I also dropped in time for the dragon's wing to swipe across the ground, but my feet slammed into the ground again jumping into the air for a split second, then my foot kicked outwards and slammed down into the dragon's wing.
"It's been twenty years, but I haven't aged a day. Similarly, I can jump maybe twenty metres, but my legs still have the same shape and my arms are still as scrawny as ever. I also once went a year without food, the pain was unbearable, but I still didn't die. Even if I'm cut, stabbed, smacked, beaten, I don't die, it all just regenerates when I reach a new level. Being immortal in this tower is fun, but I think I'd like to go outside now… Maut."
My sword plunged through the dragon's skull, frost, and cold bursting from the wound.
"Congratulations, you survived, it's been millennia since that happened, you deprived me of a meal for decades making me salivate for all that time," the old man showed himself hovering above me, but as he spoke his body started to deform his mouth growing into a huge crescent and glowing red, his eyes glowing red and scribbled across his face in a scratched swirl, his face became shrouded in a huge black cloak that's sleeves were filled with the hands of a skeleton, chains and burnt, torn scraps of cloth built up the cloak. Drifting in the breeze. "I wonder how long you have known I'm not a spirit?"
"I asked you twice, once seventeen years ago and once five how old you are, seventeen years ago you answered thirty, and five years ago you answered thirty, I'm not an idiot, also you said spirits live till their fifty, and I'm fairly sure you passed that."
"Ah… I see, well since you have deprived me of a meal I would be happy to take thirty years as penance."
"No… you deprived me of twenty already, so let's skip the haggling and say it's time served, I want my skill."
"You insolent human, you dare to try to negotiate with me???"
"Well that's the reason behind climbing this tower, isn't it? Or are you such a pathetic god you don't even have skills?"
"Fine," his mouth curved into a smile the crooked lines around his eyes narrowing as the ends of his mouth disappeared behind his cloak. "I'll give you a skill, it's called 'godless' since you begged I will grant you the skill that condemns you to have uncontrollable mana, I will give you a deeper mana pool that of Doesage, my skill makes it impossible to bond with another god, and impossible to use less than a hundred percent of your mana."
"So, if I were to use all my mana here, would it be enough to break the floor? To kill you? Since I got a new skill I might as well try it out."
"What?!?!?!?!?! Are you crazy?? You'll die!!!!"
"Not if I take a step, you haven't been watching, have you? You never wondered how I got up this tower? It's because I can always dodge. I mean it's fucking crazy!!! I was never like this before. But that brings the question, can you dodge it, you said yourself you gave me a massive amount of mana so… will you survive?"
"You wouldn't dare, you wouldn't risk your life like that."
"I've already died once, maybe I'll get a whole book this time."
"Fine, fine, I'll give you something better, OK… just don't do it."
"Hahaha, who would've known all it took was twenty years to go from being someone's punching bag to threatening gods, fine I won't, but I was given a task… so you should know I will kill you, it might take a thousand years, but I will kill all of you and see her again, and when I do… well can't have my whole life planned out,"
"You're crazy!! You can't kill gods! Foolish human!"
"Then why'd you stop smiling? Are you afraid?"
"Silence!!!!!" his face turned completely black, and the sky around turned dark. "You dare to insult me, you dare to challenge me, you dare to call me afraid of a pest such as you, I will n…"
My foot stepped forward, and I was covered in light, and with that I was gone.
