Chapter 31 - Chapter Thirty

The sun slowly peeked into Kira's room the following morning and she opened her eyes. She stretched lazily on the comfy bed.

She walked down to the bath chamber and brushed her teeth before walking to the garden. From up there she could see some people at the end of the reef working. She smiled knowing Melchoir was going to be there.

"I wonder what he's doing. Has he even had breakfast? Did he have dinner last night?" Kira thought out loud.

Melchoir who stood on a ship at the working are couldn't help but smile as he felt his wife's emotions. She was both worried and she's missing him.

"Your majesty, you should get some rest." One of the workers told him but he simply shook his head.

Ralph walked down to Melchoir with a scroll with him. He stood next to Melchoir and took a deep breath.

"Aunt sent for you." Ralph replied and Melchoir simply nodded and walked into the ship and had some servants prepare his bath.

After taking his bath and dressing, Melchoir teleported to the Northeastern part of the palace which was heavily guarded by loyal knights. That side of the palace was known as the Gardenia palace. The whole building was hidden behind large trees and flowers. No one except Melchoir, his Lords, the knights, the maids in the palace and Zeena knew about that part of the palace. They were the only ones who knew about Melchoir and his Lords being demise too.

The knights bowed to him as he walked into the palace. The walls of the glass building was covered with flowers which prevented it from being seen by others.

As Melchoir walked into the drawing room of the palace, he saw a middle-aged woman sitting on the large throne opposite the entrance.

"Greetings Aunt Vitalia." Melchoir bowed and the middle aged woman waved her hands for him to stand.

"It's really nice to have my one and only sweet nephew here." The woman, Vitalia smiled sweetly showing he perfect set of white teeth.

Her long hair still retained it's natural color despite her age. Her face had no lines as it looked like that of a young lady in her late twenties.

"Have your seat my dear." She smiled and he sat where she gestured. "I heard what happened between you and Azrael."

"But that's been long." Melchoir frowned.

"I only brought it up now because it's now you have the time." Vitalia sipped her tea gently. "Do you know why he wants to kill your mate?"

"No I don't and that's what I've been working on." Melchoir replied.

"It is really obvious that it is only because your mate isn't just an ordinary human. And if it's not that he can't kill her with his own hands and the only way for her to die is by your death, he wouldn't be carrying out that plan for her to hate you. Azrael isn't a coward or someone who has that much patient." Vitalia put down her cup of tea and picked a cookie in her plate.

"So you're saying Kirana isn't just a human?" Melchoir asked.

"That's what I think my dear. And he wouldn't want to kill her if she isn't a threat to him and Melva too that wants to kill her because of her own mother." Vitalia replied.

"I can't feel any energy from her. The only one I can feel is that I think she can breath under water. I'm familiar with that energy well so I know it when I feel it." Melchoir looked up at his aunt.

"That is part of it. James has been working on her for a very long time and it seems that something is hindering everyone from connecting with her spirit and soul. If we can at least find out what she is, we would be sure. Because as I know she's not just ordinary." Vitalia frowned.

"But I thought you could go through any protection magic. Don't you even know which type of magic was used? Is it pure magic or dark magic?" Melchoir asked.

"That is what I'm surprised about because I can't seem to figure out which type of magic it is. It doesn't look like any magic it just looks plain." Vitalia pinched the area between her eyebrows.

"Or is it the Creator's power? That is the only power that is truly unknown." Melchoir asked and Vitalia frowned.

"The creator can't just protect someone with that type of power if the person isn't dear to the creator and I don't think the creator has a daughter. He doesn't even have a daughter." Vitalia sighed and picked her cup of tea and sipped it gently.

"If that is possible, is it possible for the Creator's daughter to be the mate of someone like me?" Melchoir asked. "You and I know I'm not just a demise."

"It is what baffles me too. There is no way the creator would allow his daughter to be a mate if someone like you." Vitalia sighed.

"I hope we find answers soon because now I don't think it's only Azrael keeping an eye on her. Some other creatures are. I can feel it." Melchoir sighed.

"I'll make sure Zeena help you put up the barrier. It'll be safer for her inside the palace." Vitalia nodded and pressed a bell.

"So now that we know she's not an ordinary person what does other evil creatures want from her? That means she isn't only threat to Azrael." Melchoir frowned.

"She might be a threat to all dark creatures. And as I know no pure creature can do that." Vitalia furrowed her brows.

"We need to find out what as soon as possible. Before it's too late." Melchoir replied and Vitalia nodded.

Just then, Zeena walked into the drawing room. She bowed and Vitalia waved her hands.

"Her greatness sent for this loyal servant." Zeena bowed ignoring Melchoir.

"Please have your seat. We were talking about the young queen." Vitalia informed Zeena who just nodded. "What did you get after our last meeting?"

"I got that it's since her majesty turned eighteen years of age those creatures were going after her but there was always a magical barrier around her. It was a spell made by her mother." Zeena informed.

"So are you saying Evie knows what Kirana is?" Melchoir asked.

"I am one hundred percent sure. When her mother saw she has no chance against those creatures she had to cut their stay on the sea and bring her back here. She and Eva made a barrier together to protect her majesty once she steps out of the house. Their house originally has a barrier that protects them." Zeena said.

"So are you saying those two would know about her?" Vitalia asked and Zeena nodded.

"That explains the magic I've been sensing since. So they aren't only protecting Kirana but they are also protecting themselves and something." Melchoir frowned.

"Yes. I don't know the thing they are protecting but it's still in that house. The power is growing stronger each day. The Barrie around the house too has been made stronger. The only reason why you could sneak in then was because the barrier was weak. No one of our type can enter that house. Witches, demons, demise, or anything can't step foot in that house. And the powers are made from the same force protecting us from knowing the identity of her majesty. And I think I'm starting to sense the same power from the little girl her majesty brought into the palace." Zeena frowned.

"You mean, Ella has something to do with this too?" Melchoir asked.

"I started sensing it last night when she was reading a particular book. But that book is nowhere to be found this morning when I was looking for it." Zeena frowned and so did Melchoir and Vitalia.

"So the girl too isn't ordinary." Vitalia asked.

"Yes your greatness. I asked James to work on it already." Zeena replied and Vitalia nodded.

"If you permit me aunt, I need to leave for somethings." Melchoir stood up and Vitalia nodded and he teleported.

"Make sure you keep an eye on her. You're the only one we can trust to watch her if Melchoir isn't there. You should help him with the barrier to protect her. Something tells me she's really important to not only Melchoir but the whole world." Vitalia stood and Zeena did the same.

"I won't let you down your greatness." Zeena bowed and Vitalia nodded before teleporting.

Zeena walked out of the palace and disappeared into thin air, reappearing in a corner in the palace. As she walked out of that place towards Kira's room, she passed by Ella's room. The door was slightly opened so she peeked in.

Ella was reading the same book Zeena claimed she saw. Zeena quickly entered without knocking. Ella looked up and the book immediately looked like an ordinary book.

"Court lady Zeena?" She raised her brows.

"Can I see that book Ella?" Zeena asked and Ella raised her brows.

"Why is that?" Ella asked.

"I just want to check it. It looks familiar." Zeena frowned.

"You can have it if you can touch it." Ella gave her the book and as Zeena wanted to touch it a little spark shocked her hands. Ella just smirked and placed the book aside.

"What are you?" Zeena asked.

"I'm sorry my lady, what do you mean?" Ella looked at her and Zeena saw the book was no longer where she placed it.

"Where is the book?" Zeena asked.

"Which book?" Ella looked innocent at that moment Zeena was confused.

"Nevermind." Zeena walked out of the room and towards Kira's room.

Zeena met the ladies-in-waiting outside the room. She gave them questioning looks and they reported the queen wanted to be alone. Zeena walked into the chamber and met Kira in her study looking exhausted.

"My queen." She bowed. "You look tired."

"It's nothing. Uma and I are done with all the neglected affairs. It all held almost the same thing so it was easy to finish on time. She's writing the reports for the meeting. And I'm working on the newest affairs." Kira replied her with her eyes not leaving the scrolls with her.

"Okay my queen." Zeena bowed and walked out. She looked at the ladies-in-waiting and signaled to them to leave. She walked to the court still thinking about the little girl.

"Oh, if it isn't the lady Zeena herself." Amelia scoffed as soon as Zeena walked into the hall.

"And what is your problem with me?" Zeena looked at the lady with her brows raised.

"I see you've come close to fulfilling your aim of getting me out of this court. I won't let that happen." Amelia growled.

"You're late already. Her majesty is stripping your title tomorrow. You should enjoy your remaining hours in this palace Amelia." Zeena walked away and Amelia frowned.

Zeena walked into her room which was the biggest in the whole court. Everyone knew Zeena isn't just a court lady. She's very close with the royal family but they all said nothing.

Zeena locked her door and walked to the other side of the room which was demarcated with wooden walls. The other part of the room was filled with books on the bookshelves. Zeena shifted one of the bookshelf revealing a door. She opened the door and walked into the dark room
