Chapter 10 - Chapter Nine

"You'll be staying in the palace from tonight. That's how it's done before the ball at night." Eva helped Kira recheck her dress to make sure there wasn't any fault. "Now, we should pack this up."

The ball was tomorrow and Kira is still having a hard time with what Melva said the other day. She wasn't annoyed because he was a demise but because he was only attracted to her because she was his weakness.

"Can I not go? Kira asked.

"It is very rude to reject the king's invite so please do this Kira." Evie pinched her cheeks and Kira sighed before walking up the stairs to his room.

Melchoir sat in the meeting looking helpless. He was deep in thought. He hasn't seen Kira for days now and it's hurting him a lot. Only if she had let him finish, he wanted to tell her he loved her truly not just a lie.

"Your Majesty what should we do?"

Melchoir was pulled back and looked at them.

"The Ophyrium king wanted to breach our truce with them. There is probability that they would do later on. What should we do?"

"Just do the usual and fight. You sholine asking me questions like that." Melchoir snarled.

"He's just stressed. We should protect our borders and prepare for attack anytime soon. Then we'll put up the great gate of Vitalia as from now to prevent an marine attacks." Ralph replied.

"Yes my Lord."

Melchoir laid on his bed just staring into space. He looked empty and fear was plastered across his face.

What is Kira decides to leave again? If he dies she won't only be in trouble but she might be killed by the guardians of the underworld for causing the only royal prince's death. He must find a way to convince her once she arrives for the ball.

"She'll be arriving tonight." Ralph informed.

"You should be the one to pick her up. Have Achilles pick her friend up too." He mumbled.

"Okay." Ralph nodded before walking out of the room.

"He asked you to pick Uma up." Ralph told Achilles.

"You mean the cute brown haired girl? I'm so going." Achilles smirked.

"You can have her after the ball not before." Ralph kept his straight face.

"How's Melva?" Xander asked.

"She's ever so finding a way to get to Kirana again." Ralph hissed.

"What does she want with her?" Vitalis asked.

"Maybe she wants her to leave Melchoir." Xander said.

"But we all know he'll die if she does again. Does she want him dead?" Vitalis asked.

"Seems like it and I don't think she's doing that just to go against Melchoir but also Kirana. There must be a real reason why she wants the guardians of the underworld to punish or kill her that we don't know." Achilles pinched the skin between his eyebrows.

"I'm so unlucky when it comes to mate department." Ralph mumbled.

"But at least she knows how to satisfy your desire better than any other woman." Vitalis smirked.

"It's because he hasn't tried other women." Achilles rolled his eyes.

"Just go prepare for our tasks Achilles. It's nearing sundown already." Ralph walked away and the rest went on with their tasks.

Kira heard a knock on her door as she was looking outside at the beautiful sky.

"Yes?" She called.

"It's time little pirate. The king's men are here." Evie called from outside.

Kira took a deep breath as she put the painting of the boy in her bag and opened the door. Some ladies walked in and carried her bags out of the room.

"Be good sweetheart and please don't act cold. Be friendly and accommodating okay?" Evie asked.

"Okay." Kira nodded.

"That's my baby. Make mummy proud." Evie pinched her cheeks and Kira smiled.

"Yes mummy." She smiled.

"Make us all proud." Eva replied.

"It's go time My Lady." Ralph walked in.

"Alright." Kira said to her mum and aunt. "I'll miss you guys."

"It's just for tonight and tomorrow little pirate, if you do well you can visit us before your marriage in a week." Eva smiled and Kira hugged both of them.

The guards were surprised the king decided to choose comonners for the first time. Normally, the king's marry Nobel ladies not commoners.

Kira was helped into the carriage and she waved at her family before they set out. The carriage was the most beautiful she has ever seen. There was a table in between which a vase of rose stood. The seats were gold and the curtains were gold. The floor was red and so was the roof.

"Wow." Kira looked at the cookies on the table and picked one and examined it before eating it. It tasted ever so good.

Kira lifted the curtains and looked out at the beautiful village which was brightly lit with candles.

Then she saw them leaving the village and the carriage rode up the hill to the Royal palace. Kira's heartbeat started increasing. She had mixed feelings about this.

She was sure Melchoir would choose her but what if he choose another person. Well she would be glad. But she noticed the last sentence didn't reach her heart.

"We're here." Ralph said helping him down the carriage.

"Thank you." She smiled.

Kira saw another carriage ride in and Uma got off.

"Kira, you're here?" Uma hugged her.

"Yes I am." Kira smiled.

Just then another carriage rode in. It was blue in colour and it stopped not far from them and a Nobel lady was helped out if the carriage. Her black hair tumbled down her shoulder and her blue gown was the most elegant the girls has ever seen. She fluttered her peacock fan as soon as her feet landed in the floor.

She looked at them and a disgusted look was visible on her face.

She walked to them slowly and looked at them from head to toe.

"What are commoners like you doing here. You don't even have any social status." She hissed. "It's people like me, the one and only daughter of the house of Sutton, Adele should be the one the king would choose not you."

"Well my mum is the head of all pirates. That's a social status and her father here is my mum's second in command. It's a social status." Kira hissed.

"Oh, so you're the Kirana. Well good luck with the rest of the beautiful Nobel ladies and good luck with me the most beautiful." Adele walked away.

"I'll kick her...."

"It's okay Uma, the only thing is that she shouldn't be the queen." Kira sighed.

"Can you believe it? We'll be sleeping in the palace." Uma squealed and Kira chuckled.

"Your rooms has been assigned to you and these maids will take you to your rooms." Xander said from the stairs.

They were all lead to their rooms. As Kira walked through the hall way, she couldn't help but admire the view. Everything was decorated with gold and expensive paintings.

"This is your room my lady." The maids opened the door to a room and she stepped in.

"Woah." Kira gasped.

"We will make your bath before dinner my lady." The maids bowed and walked into another room.

Kira has never seen a bedroom as large as this.

The bed was held with a golden board and the white bed spread s were nearly arranged on the bed. The marbled floor was sparkling and she looked up at the high ceilings which was suspended with golden chandeliers.

There was a large door which lead to the garden. Kira walked to the garden and inhaled the sweet scent of roses, Jasmine and larkspurs. She walked to the edge of the garden and placed her hands on the railings looking at the moon and the sea from a distance.

"This is amazing." She gasped.

"My lady, your bath is ready."

Kira walked to the bathroom and was once again speechless. There large pool and it had water falling from the ceiling into it and there was a bathtub filled with rose petals.

The maids helped her undress and she felt a bit weird being naked before them.

"I can take my bath myself." She said.

"I'm sorry my lady but the king gave strict orders to help you with everything." The maids bowed.

'Melchoir?' She raised her brows as she asked in her mind. "Okay."

Kira was dressed in a casual dress before she was lead to the dining hall where all the ladies sat already eating.

They all looked at her a bit weirdly. The king had ordered them to leave the head of the table reserved for her.

"The king said we should reserve the head of the table for you. Aren't you lucky?" Uma smiled and Kira was surprised again.

"So lady Kirana, how old are you?" One of the ladies with ginger hair asked.

"I'm eighteen and would be ninteen in a few weeks." Kira replied raising her brows.

"Have you had any secret conversation with the king?" Another lady asked.

"Why?" She asked.

"Oh, don't you know yet? He asked the maids to give you the most special treatment and you are the only one who has the most elegant room out of us all. Did you charm him or something?" Adele frowned.

"What?" Kira looked at her.

"Or did you brainwash him?"

"Or did you sell your body to him to be the queen?"

"You're so shameless..."

"Enough." Kira yelled hitting her fist in the table making to all shook and everyone was startled except Uma who saw it coming. "I did nothing and I don't know why I'm even telling you. I brainwashed him if that's what you wanna hear, I charmed him if that's what you want to hear, I sold my body to him if that's what you want to hear. Arrgh. You all annoy me."

Kira barged out and her maids followed her. Uma stood up and left as well.

"Kira." Uma called.

"Not now Uma. Good night." Kira walked away.

"Kirana." She heard his voice as soon as she stepped into her room.

Kira looked up at him and immediately her anger and frustration melted away by just looking at his face.

He walked over to her and pulled her into his tight embrace.

"I missed you. I thought you wouldn't come." He breathed on her neck making her body shook. He seemed to be inhaling her sweet scent as he stood there with her for a few minutes.

"What do you want?" She managed to push the words out of her mouth.

"I came to settle our misunderstanding."
