Tobin couldn't help but savour the sudden look of disappointment on the faces of the wicked taskmasters. They were all upset that they didn't get what they wanted, at last, and Tobin was so happy with that. He still remained curious about what his father had to tell him.
The men loosed the chains from Tobin's arms, freeing him from the pole. Tobin stood there, frozen in shock and puzzlement, as his father stepped towards him.
"Father..." Tobin muttered with confusion displayed over his face.
His father had a warm welcoming smile on his face, with his arms spread wide apart for an embrace.
"My son, I am so happy to see you," he said, hugging him tight.
Tobin was still stunned, seeing his father in such a state; a state in which he was a total free man, going around freely with a smile on his face, and even talking to commander Raja as if they were great buddies. Tobin didn't understand what was going on right now, but hugged back, just barely.
