Sia sat in the room she'd rented and gazed out the window as she waited for someone. When she was alone, she was able to let the tears flow freely. The tears that streamed down her cheeks served as a continual reminder of her pain. She loathed them all. His honesty was commendable, given that he had been so forthright in the past. She made an effort, but he turned her down. Because of a call from a critical project that required his attention, even her appointment with Simmons had fallen through. She'd chosen to let herself have a bad night tonight. Tomorrow, she'd be confronted with even more difficult challenges. After hearing the door open, she scowled as she approached it. She took a step back, took a deep breath, and peeked through the crack in the floor. Suddenly, she slammed the door open and welcomed him in.
"Is everything okay with you, Sia?"
Smirking, she continued. "Is that what he told you at the time?"
