Chris's POV
After she was hired, I only heard good things about her. Everyone in the office complimented Mia on how organized and efficient she was, and how good she was at her job. Raisings, promotions, and securing her own office were all accomplished in a matter of months or weeks. The office was on the same floor as my office. It irritated me greatly. When I came across her, I did everything I could to avoid her. Most of the time, it worked.
I sat at my workstation till the wee hours of the morning trying to make sense of the numbers. When I checked the time, it was almost ten o'clock. I shifted my gaze to the outside. The metropolis below the window was illuminated at night with spectacular lights. Two specks of light from cars' headlights were visible in the distance.
