Amir noticed that Adelita was hanging by her wrists while still touching the ground. This was how old prisons used to manage prisoners they were interrogating. The constant stimulation was known to cause madness.
Dione stepped closer and whispered, "Captain. What would possess you to do such a thing?"
She hung in silence for a few moments before Dione continued, "And why would you attempt to take your brother? It seems so foolish." he squinted, "Far too foolish for a Captain of the Royal Army."
He nodded as she finally glared at him with a grimace.
Dione continued to speak with her as he pulled out a chair to sit in, "Why the eastern gate?" he already knew the answer as she spoke, "Guard Bail is a smuggler. I thought he could get me out."
He nodded, "Why would you sell one of your people out? Are you hoping for a lenient punishment?" he smiled as she glared through her purple hair, "They need removed. There is far too much scheming in the Royal Army."
She spat at Dione's feet, "People like you, who do whatever they want. You disgust me."
Amir could tell by the purple iris that she was serious, she looked like a dead woman spilling her truths.
Amir understood. This was his entrance.
He stepped next to Dione, "Then you will have to forgive me, for I plan on doing exactly that."
She turned with noticeably less hate and stared at the Prince, the wonder on full display, she had no clue where this was going.
"Dione. Power is really the only way people operate here, isn't it?" Amir received the same response as before.
They sat in the moment and Dione could tell the Prince was adapting.
"Adelita, do you hate your slaver?"
She nodded, "He is a bastard." The glare in her eye showing the only detail she was willing to go into for a stranger.
Amir felt like he could end it here. He had all he needed for himself.
He spun to Dione, "How much would it take to purchase her contract?" then he added, "And her brother!"
Dione huffed, "Not enough to be worth mentioning." then he sighed, "But unfortunately, her owner has a hold on all sales. They are his property."
He smirked, "What will you do, Ymir?"
Amir thought for a few moments, "Is there no other way?" he sighed.
Adelita was staring at him.
He laughed, "I suppose there was no other way if you risked punishment like this."
Amir nodded, "We should respect his right to autonomy. Absolutely. Nobody deserves to have their freedom taken." he approached the spoil of chains.
"It would be disrespectful to treat a man in such a way, wouldn't it Dione?" he unwrapped the links of chain, they were tiny in his hands.
Dione just watched.
Amir smiled, "I have a few ideas. Mind if I?" he pointed to her bound wrists and Dione shook his head, he had heard the rumors and felt the boy's strength.
Amir grabbed the metal and slowly began to pull, the metal chain was like a thread as Amir caused the metal to deform from the sheer pressure of his fingers. He would never have attempted something like this but he felt it in the moment.
'Break. BREAK. BREAK THE FUCKING CHAIN!' with a yank, the link erupted and was shot flying across the room, his muscles felt like they were steaming, his blood was pounding.
He noticed the woman had dropped to her knees, just staring at his hulking form.
The air around him was empty, like it lacked oxygen.
"Dione, what is wrong with this place?" He huffed as he knelt next to her.
Dione eyed their arrangement and moved forward, shattering her cuffs.
"This is a warded area, there are many formations reducing the effectiveness of most things." he waved his hand, "You can look at them later, first we need to get you out of here."
He picked the woman up and grabbed Ymir's arm as he dragged them out of the room.
They stepped out of the room when the Constable was amassing a group of guards who were pointing weapons at them, "What has happened Dione? Did the whore make an attempt on the Prince's life?" she noticed the redness coloring the Prince and his inability to breath.
Amir did not like that and glared at her, "Do not call her a whore. She is but a woman. Just as you." He felt the rage bubble at the injustice. A person born with extreme privilege is treated better that someone without it. Again.
He let the rage go and felt his cores begin to spin slightly as they walked away from the group.
Dione laughed, "My boy. You must feel the rage and anticipate it. I thought you lacked it because of your heritage. No. It merely combined with your human....sensibilities." He giggled, "Frightening, eh Constable?" Dione dropped Amir half way to the gate and the human Constable moved to intercept him.
He felt the urge to move out of the way when she grabbed him and held him firmer than Dione had been.
She had a look of confusion plastered on her face, but seemed to be going with it. He didn't know if it was training or her own intuition.
Amir approached the gate and felt the world come back to him as they all sighed, "OHHHHH, that felt amazing!" he couldn't help but say out loud.
Dione nodded, "Qi deprivation. The weakness of all cultivators."
He nodded, trying to understand how it had happened so quickly. 'Using my force.'
Dione stopped as Amir fell into thought and flicked him, "Boy. She is your responsibility. You must take charge." He left a few words unsaid, he had made his bed and would sleep in it.
Adelita was frozen as Amir turned to her, "Do you wish for your freedom? I can make it happen." He looked off into the distance and noticed her brother being held down by other humans.
She nodded, "That would be very kind of you." she went quiet as she clearly contemplated what was happening.
Amir noticed his problem, 'I have acted too quickly. But if I did not act. I never would have. People cannot wait for help.' He felt the pain of the woman and understood her issues. She chose to risk death rather than go back. That was all he needed to know.
Dione smiled as he waved the boy over, "Your mother is going to be pissed."
Amir nodded, "Understandable. I undermined her authority."
The Constable was clearly making conversation as she looked around constantly and frequently closed her eyes.
They were waiting for the shoe to drop.
Adelita ran forward and grabbed her baby brother as she felt relief to be seeing him once more.
Then, a force of nature approached for the second time today.
"Hi mom!" He smiled and waved to the extraordinary presence.
