Chapter 2 - It is a monster.

He felt, freaking excellent.

"What a rush!" He was feeling the blue energy wash over him and felt a call from his abdomen.

"Oh, hello there." He could conceptualize his other orb sitting about 2 inches from his umbilicus.

The orb was flaring up and getting hot, real hot. Hot enough to cook cookies on the sidewalk hot.

"Okay, please chill." He was squirming and getting uncomfortable when he heard his father?

"BARBENT! BARBEN EKULHASTEN FLAR QI!" He was excited for sure, 'Am I barbent? I don't like it.'

The heat was cooking now. Propane had nothing on this. He began to cry, 'OKAY, OKAY, CHILL. I SAID CHILL!' He instinctively waved a blast of blue at it...and it spit it back at him?

He was actually cooking, "HELP!" The smell of meat was actually pretty good but it was not the time, "I AM BURNING ALIVE, HELP ME!"

"HELIPEN! KNERISHEK, NEOW!!!!" Mom was yelling and then he noticed a small finger barely touch his stomach right where the orb was.

The pain washed away.

'Oh thank god.' He relaxed until he noticed the finger was connected to an arm that had literally ripped through the abdomen of his mother.

"Mom..." He was speechless as she seemed to not even notice.

He heard what he assumed to be a sigh of relief, then he touched the small hand.

'This can't be my father, right?' He noticed the smoldering veins streaking the man's arm, then he felt acknowledgment as the red energy began to slow its exit.

'Ah crap. He latched onto it and felt his blue energy attempt to steal it.' The mixture was dangerous.

"CEASE!" He could feel the energy obediently return as the red sloughed off from the orb into his pool of blue and tinted him purple.

He felt the power. It was intoxicating. 'I will drink it in. For now.'

He drew it in like before, but he knew "it" would come.

Once the amount was too high, he vanished into himself and noticed the red orb floating. The instinct for power was there, "Just give in. Let me make use of your body."

The pull was as strong as before, but nothing to someone versed in the way of the emo. These emotions were for children.

He spoke softly, "You think you have power? Well, my dad would kick your behind. He literally shushed you like 10 seconds ago. Remember?"

The orb shook.

"Mortal, I can offer yo-" he was interrupted, "Yea, I got it, you want to give me an extended warranty on my car." He shook his head, "I would love the warranty, but I ride a bike."

He made a uncommitted gesture and then smacked the orb with his fist.

"Wakey, wakey, orbie, time for energy regulation so I don't COOK!" The orb thrummed to alive and seemed to understand his disappointment.

He felt himself go back to the world of the living and noticed his presumed father's hand.

'Surely a doctor would make an incision, no, this is clearly an idiot fighter, A.K.A dad.' He patted his father's hand gently and felt his strength before he MOVED his father's hand against his will.

He smirked, "Thanks for the assist, pops."

The energies were flowing and felt it pretty good. They collided here and there but they were behaving well.

The hand retreated out of his mother and he heard his father start yelling in joy about something.

"Ice and Fire mana. Or perhaps Qi, or just energy." He could feel the availability of the resource increase and could even make his hand ice cold for a moment.

'Baby steps.'

He sighed, 'Dad is a gnome, 100%.'

'I'll be tiny. AGAIN!' He sat for some time as he heard shouting and could feel the "time" come for him.

---------------

"My love, we must prepare, the baby is coming. He is ready, I could feel his power." I starred up into deep blue eyes, my love, my true flame.

The Qi stirred within me once more, this is it.

"You need to work on your control, husband, imagine if our child wasn't as strong." She smiled meekly as the toll appeared on her face but for a moment.

I nodded, "Attendants, more Dragon flanks for my Queen. And make sure they include the Frost Drake heart this time!"

I could feel the raw potential, my baby boy.

"S-sir, we do not have anymore Frost Drake heart, it was eaten last feast."

Ah, right, how could I forget. "No matter. I will get some." I grabbed my cloak and readied my axe.

"I will return in a few hours darling." She smiled and then I was gone.

--------------------------

"What the heck was that?" He felt the shock wave come through the hole that clearly was intentional as she had healed the one made by dad in a literal second.

'That sounded like the sound barrier. Do they have jets?' He waved the question away, it would soon be revealed.

For a moment he wondered if it was a person, but probably not, right?

He shook his head, "Manage expectations, do not get your hopes up, no matter how cool flying sword fights might be."

He centered himself and tried to go back to sleep.

----------------------------

He was jostled as he noticed a man looking at him through the hole.

They locked eyes for a moment and the man pulled back.

'Awkward. Sorry dude, you caught me nappin' how can I help you?'

The man seemed to be scared given the look in his eye.

He shouted something a native of this world would know and then his mother changed positions.

This was...new? Had his mother not laid down on her side before? Maybe the lack of fluid is the issue?

He waved it away, and then he noticed the man panicking through the hole.

He was dripping with sweat.

"Kneifnet." He gulped and sliced into the abdomen but Amir noticed the cut was healing as it was made, they wouldn't get anywhere like this.

The man paled as he realized what was happening. Then he went a shade whiter as he was reprimanded by papa' bear. 'Someone get the doctor a doctor!'

He shook his head.

It clearly wasn't working, no matter how much he wanted it to.

Slicing continued for an hour.

'I think my dad is going to kill the dude.' He noticed the flames radiating off of him.

Amir was peeking through the hole held open by the metal ring and looked around. 'Why are the gnomes in armor?' He shook his head and looked at the shaking doctor.

His mother was a saint. She wasn't making a noise, which was concerning but for other reasons, 'Should I just TAKE the knife and do a swift incision and get out of here?'

Amir starred at the unsuccessful man, as he slowly poked through and wondered what doc thought he was accomplishing.

He waited for a few more minutes and the doctor gave up.

He was literally shaking to death and appeared to have lost a ton of weight from the heat.

"Knief-net?" Amir spoke loudly while peeking through.

His father turned to him, clearly surprised at his attempt of the language.

"Kniefnet?" He held his hand up to the hole and his father looked solemnly at his mother.

He slowly spoke with her and nodded before gently sliding the knife in through the hole.

'This thing is wicked sharp.'

He placed the blade on his finger as his father watched in fear.

'Hmm. It draws blood, it might even KEEL!' He shook his head, not the time.

Then he placed his hand on his mother and tapped her twice. Then placed the blade on his room.

'Wait.' He noticed his wound had healed as quickly as hers.

Then he nodded and prepared a plan.

'Cut the cords, then cut swiftly and jump hard out the incision. Once out, bleed the cords on the wound, hopefully any loose STEM cells help whatever monstrous healing factor she has.'

He wasn't worried about a woman that could probably go for hours while getting cut on, he was worried about his father having a heart attack in the meantime.

He had to cut the cords first, it might heal in the wound and then she would have to get cut again. Not on his watch.

He grabbed the main cord and sliced it in a swift motion, no pain, and then he cut the others.

He looked at his father with a hard stare.

They nodded and his plan started, 'Slice it and roll.' He was half way down his rip as her healing kicked in and blood spurt all over him, he squatted and kicked with all of his might. It was like a sweaty fat kid through a bouncy castle entrance as he popped out.

He was flash banged by the light difference as he slammed into a wall. He absentmindedly pulled his head out and turned back to see his mom and dad in shock.

He tried to walk but had to wobble over and rubbed the blood from his cord all over the wound as it sprouted flesh. She was crying and he could see the joy on her face. He was pretty sure he did nothing to help, but it was the thought that counted.

His father was frozen.

Amir handed the knife to the gnome doctor who promptly fainted, then he smiled at his dad who was already below half his height.

Amir was finally out of there and he needed to stretch out some kinks in his neck, so he stood tall and stretched before he hit his head on a chandelier, "Sorry!" he said swiftly, but the gnomes and his parents were all "confused" about something.

He shrugged and hugged his mom, not noticing the gap in the stone wall that his head perfectly matched, nor the terrified faces on the guards.
