As soon as I woke up in the morning, I headed over to Claire's room. She seemed to be in a better mood, and to my surprise, the mage from New Olympia had already gotten there.
"Wow, she got here fast," I said to the mage. Once she turned her head, I realized who she really was.
Back in Sieve when I was first summoned, she offered to be in my party but was turned down by the King. I had no idea she was such a powerful mage... could she teach me anything?
"It's good to see you again, Anima. I heard about your declaration to stop the unjust rule of Sieve. Are you sure you really want to turn against a kingdom that powerful?" The girl asked me. I nodded my head in response and she reached into her cloak's pocket on the inside by her stomach.
She threw some weird, goldenrod over to me. It had a perfect area where I could grab it in the middle.
[Titan's Wand +4]
"Take this. It's an extra. Look at the skills as well." The girl said.
[Clairvoyance], [Blessing], and [Rapid] were the skills attached. They didn't have descriptions, so I asked the girl about them.
"[Clairvoyance] will allow you to converse with a user over a long-range. If two users don't have the skill, then they can't respond. So, because I have that skill, we can talk with our minds to each other." The girl said.
[See? It only works like this, however. Right now, Borealis can't hear us, but we can converse.]
I was stunned. That was an extremely unique skill... but if another person had it, they could intercept.
"[Blessing] is [Heal] and [Raise] combined. When you rank up skills to Tier 5, they have different branches and you can expand however you want. You can ditch your [Heal] and [Raise] skill in exchange for [Blessing] if you have either of the two." The girl explained.
"Why were you in Sieve if you're from New Olympia?" I asked the girl.
"To scout the Heroes and see what they were like. Don't worry, I'm not on Sieve's side either. I've been fighting off my own enemy for a while now. I came because Borealis's niece was in trouble." She explained.
"I see... then, it's nice to finally meet you. I'm Anima, and I'm the Third Magic Hero." I told the girl.
"Greetings, Anima. My name is Soul." The girl told me.
"Uh... Soul? Like... a human soul?" I asked her. She nodded. I thought her name would've been something... cooler.
"So, does this make us partners, or am I just able to converse with you over a long distance?" I asked Soul.
"Converse. After I've defeated my enemy, I'll come to join up with you." She told me.
"Now that we have that figured out... Borealis, are you okay with getting me new gear in exchange for these potions?" I asked him. Borealis was looking at a sheet of paper with a nurse while Soul and I were talking.
"Anima... are you feeling alright?" He asked me.
"Hm? Yeah, I feel fine. Why? Should I not be feeling fine?" I asked him.
"Your blood samples are... weird, to say it in normal terms. I guess I've never sampled a Hero's blood before, but it's similar to slime." Borealis told me.
"Is that a joke? How would it be similar to a..." I paused while attempting to make fun of his idea.
"Wait... I used to have a slime companion, Shima before Joro killed her and my other friend. When my arm was blown off, some of Shima touched my arm. Does that mean I now share her blood?" I asked Borealis. He rubbed the scruff under his chin and Soul chipped in.
"I'd like to try something. Slimes have a body defined as an organ by the magical scaling, so if I use [Heal 8] on your arm, I wonder if that would heal it. Come here." Soul told me. I walked over next to her and she used her wand on my arm.
It slowly, but surely, started to regain gelatinous substance on the left side of my body. Just as Shima was once orange, my arm started to shift into the same color as it started to come back. I was amazed, I never knew Shima's blood could be used to repair my arm... sort of.
It took a while for my feeling to come back, but I could wiggle my fingers at my own will after about ten seconds. "It worked... amazing..." I mumbled, opening and closing my hand.
"I've never seen this before... so, you have full control over that arm?" Borealis asked me. I nodded while swinging it around. It didn't slip off, it was sturdy, just like my other arm... the only difference was the material it was made out of. My other arm was just like my other body, but this arm was still solid, even if it had a gelatinous substance in it. It was a weird feeling, but if I thought hard enough about it, I could move my normal hand through it completely.
"It's just like a slime... so, you got your arm repaired!" Borealis gleefully shouted out. He was more excited than I was... it was kind of weird having a monster take over a part of my body.
"I wonder if it has the same properties as a slime. Tell me, does it hurt if I pinch you?" Soul asked me. I shook my head as she pinched the slime in my arm. After that, she swung a knife through my arm. I was shocked, expecting it to hurt... but no damage was done as the slime continued to replenish the bits that were cut out.
"Amazing... this has to be the first case of a Hybrid-Blooded Human, let alone a Hero, that we've ever seen," Borealis told me. I nodded, thinking about what this would mean. How has that not happened to anybody else in this world? More importantly...
"We don't tell anybody about what happened here. Let them stay curious. We can't have people with the blood of animals start rapidly appearing. Let's just keep it a secret until further notice." I said. Borealis and Soul seemed to agree with me and we kept quiet about it.
"By the way, you never explained [Rapid]. What does that skill do?" I asked Soul.
"[Rapid] is to speed up various things. You can speed up yourself, speed up your attacks, stuff like that." She explained.
I did some rearranging in my inventory, getting rid of [Raise 3] and [Heal 3]. I then took a moment to start creating [Blessing 3] with some paper at the hospital. Now, my skills were a lot different.
[Bullet 3], [Blessing 3], [Clairvoyance], [Absorption 3], and [Rapid 3]. I thanked Borealis for lending me some of his magic parchment and traded a lot of my stashed health potions in exchange. I turned to Soul while giving her three health potions as well.
"This [Titan's Wand] weapon... can I use it in conjunction with Yggdrasil's Bone?" I asked her.
"Technically you can now since you got your left arm back... kind of. Be careful, the skills I gave you drain your mana like hell. I have to ask, how do you get health potions of that quality?" Soul analyzed the bottles I gave her, that were once exclusively packaged at Lolo's shop in a special bottle. Now, I didn't have access to those bottles. Even if I didn't, the crafting system in my inventory automatically created the potion bottles.
That reminds me... I can still make soul potions as well. I would have to do that after I left.
"Alright, Claire is sleeping again and she's getting the medicine she needs. Let's head over to my armory." Borealis told me. I nodded and followed close behind. Soul decided to stick with us as well before returning to the capital.
