Chapter 69 - Confusion

"Still not used to flying?"

Elizabeth taunted as she sipped wine.

"No. Unless I sprout wings I don't plan on getting used to it."

I looked out of the window. We were in a private jet Elizabeth owned.

"Now, remembered. Alice crafted wings with her blood while I was fighting her. Is this a skill?"

Elizabeth's arrogant smile widened. Red mana indistinguishable from blood flied before forming wings.

"Show off."

"I could shape them nicer if I wanted to."

"You could also cover your hands to create claws, right?"

"Yes."

"I should learn it."

She pointed to my sword.

"It is just a lower skill of Blood Reinforcement. You already have better things."

I stretched my body.

"Why are we going to England? Do we have a hint about where Will Talbot is?"

Elizabeth shook her head.

"If you want to catch a mutt never chase after the tail. If you grab the head, you also will have the tail."

"Wolfgang. He is in England? Is it certain?

I nearly jumped off the seat I was sitting.

"Maybe, maybe not. We know that Wolfgang is trying to find a way to turn monster to werewolves. He is also a very vengeful mutt."

I tilted my head.

"Wait, what this… Edward."

Wolfgang fought with Edward once. So maybe he was around Edward's area, waiting for a rematch?

"But isn't this just a long shot? No matter how vengeful someone is Wolfgang is a Pack Leader. He has his agenda and mission."

"Yes. Mission to turn monsters to werewolves. And what's better of a experiment ground than the highest ranked gate currently open in the world?"

"Hm?"

"You were chasing after Alice so you probably didn't heard about it. Currently there is a dungeon that's about to break in England. Edward is summoning hunters around world to clear it."

A dungeon so dangerous that Edward and Excalibur guild needs help?

"That dungeon probably has monsters with highest magic resistance. Perfect for being experiment subjects."

Elizabeth filled her glass with wine.

"At best we kill the Wolfgang and stop "werewolficition" Project. At worst we stop a dungeon from breaking. Win win."

She sipped wine. Her outer appearance was of a calm sea. Yet I could see the storm brewing inside her.

"5 dungeons. Goblins, orcs, trolls, lizardman and kobolds. He succeded at turning 5 dungeons full of monsters to werewolves. And even a ghoul showing weird powers... I don't like this, Burak. Even the strongest vampires can't win against thirst. If he really finds a way to turn everything into werewolves, we can go extinct."

"Is there a way to turn someone back?"

"Not without killing them."

"But Elizabeth even if we kill Wolfgang wouldn't just some other Pack Leader pick up where he left off? How will we stop it?"

Elizabeth just sipped some more wine. She looked out of it since she ordered me to catch Alice. Did a family member betraying her affected her that much?

"Is there something I can help with? Besides this, I mean."

She looked at me suprised then smiled. A mature smile I wasn't used to from her.

"Don't worry, I will be fine. Just stupid politics."

"Related to punishment of Alice?"

"Yes."

"What did Council decided on?"

"The coffin."

"I don't know what it is."

Elizabeth sighed as if to say "Of course, you don't."

"It is worse than death. You are trapped in to a coffin barely big for you to fit. You are given just barely blood enough to survive. You are awake for all of it. She was given 300 years."

I felt the hairs back of my neck rise.

"This is…"

"Too cruel, huh?"

"Yes."

Killing her outright was better. Trapped in a place you could barely move and being fed barely enough for to not die? For 300 years?

"Won't she go insane?"

"After 10 years, probably."

"But then…"

"The point of leaving her alive wasn't mercy, Burak. It was to show others what happens when you piss off the Council."

Wow. Even then that was extreme.

"Does she have any family members… Besides you."

"My family is huge, Burak. But my… our concept of family is different than you."

She signed me to come toward her. I stood up and walked towards her before being pulled towards her. I felt her breath on my neck.

"To me they are just assests. Tools. There was sometime I didn't see them like this. A long time ago…"

She bit my neck. It was slightly painful. She pulled me even more and I had to sit on her lap.

"Elizabeth, slow dow- Argh!"

She bit deeper. Sucking huge amounts of blood wasn't good for my health.

"ELIZABETH!"

I released Domination aura. Her grip on my hand was tight. Tight enough to leaved marks. I managed to pull myself free. Her lips left my neck leaving a spit trail. I stood up from her lap.

"What's gotten into you? What was that?"

"You are not him…"

She closed her face with her hand.

"That's why humans…"

"Elizabeth?"

"I am fine. Just, fuck!"

She slammed her hand to arm of the seat she sat, breaking it. She pulled her hand from her face and looked directly in my eye.

"Our body is basically immortal. Generations of selective breeding and fleshcraft… I wish they fucking thought our minds too…"

After that we waited in silence for some time. It wasn't a long time but I felt like I was trapped in eternity. Elizabeth was the first one to spoke up:

"Sorry about it. You looked like… someone I knew. Someone precious to me. I am just under a lot of stress."

I touched my neck. Bite marks started to fade.

"I guess that's okay. Happens best of us. I was just suprised."

I am pretty sure just biting into someone's neck wasn't something people do but I was already with people far away from normal. Still, Elizabeth's ramblings… Who was the person precious to her?
