While I felt bad for roughly handling him, I had no time for being soft. I still had to reach him in 10 minutes. I didn't knew if traffic was busy or roads were closed due dungeon break. I sped away while poor worker screamed after me. I couldn't hear what he was saying due engine's noise.
"Shit!"
Roads were actually busy. It was night! Why were roads this busy? I broke countless traffic rules and drove. My senses and reflexes were advanced enough to speed in busy traffic without killing myself. Last thing I needed right now was a accident to slow me down. Phone started to ring. Is that man calling me again? Slowing down, I looked at the caller. "Dear". That's how Mother recorded Father's number.
"Father, no time to explain! Stay with Ayla and other hunters!"
I ended the call without listening his pleading. They also had right to know that their family were in danger. But that bastard had his eyes on me. If told them what was happening, they would go to hunters.
"Alone. No hunters."
I gritted my teeth. Father called me again and again. I couldn't just turn the phone off in case of him calling me. I was afraid that if I were to miss one call…
"No!"
I slapped my right cheek. Hard. Fast. I felt burning sensation spread to my entire face. Gotta calm down. Be rational. I left the motorcyle since the road was not suited for it.
"A graveyard. Talk about cliches."
Graveyard looked old. Most tombstones were broken or the names were not readable. Perhaps, most people that rested here didn't had living relatives. But even then shouldn't city council take care of this kind of stuff. I activated Hawkeye.
"A barrier?"
I said between fast breaths. I ran full speed here. My ribs hurt. They probably still weren't fully healed. I still tried to maintain a stoic face. I can't show any weakness.
"I am here! Let go my sisters!"
I screamed. Even with my Hawkeye fully activated to cover as much as ground as possible, I still couldn't detect him. The fact that I couldn't detect him increased my anxiety. I heard laughing.
"I am here. Let them go."
"You still haven't learned your lesson, have you? Should I broke another arm?"
I fell on my knees.
"Please…"
"Better. But not enough. Put your head to ground."
I let go of my pride and put my head to ground. Since Hawkeye was still active, I could see around me. I saw countless bat like creatures appear from thin air and fuse together to a humanoid shape. Shape was cleared in a minute and a man wearing ripped jeans and black t-shirt stepped in my vision.
"My name is Lazarus Abdon, fledging!"
He… looked like a punk. His pale arms were covered with tattoos. Black, greasy hair covered his head. His eyes were red. A different shade than me and Elizabeth. Perhaps, what shade your eyes were related to your bloodline. I both heard and saw him getting closer.
"Raise your head."
I slowly raised my head. He grabbed my chin and pulled me closer. His touch made me feel shivers. I wanted to punch him. With this angle, I could easily break his nos…
"Hmmm. You are quite the treat to my eyes. That scar though…"
He caressed my eye scar along with his index finger. It took all the restraint I had to beat the shit out of him.
"It is quite ugly. It just ruins your face. How sad."
Burak. You don't know where he keeps your sisters. Calm down. Play along.
"Where did your resistance go? Did my looks captured you that much?"
I could feel him using hypnosis. It was an extremely uncomfortable sensation. It felt like someone grabbed my brain and played with it. It was different than how Elizabeth did it. He felt forceful. I couldn't even notice Elizabeth was controlling me until she made me do something. Yet, I could feel his mana invading my mind. I still couldn't control mana as I wanted. So, my only defense was my willpower. I was worried that he would be able to control me until…
"You are quite bit resistant."
He finally let go my chin with a frustrated tone. He took several steps back. Even though he pulled his hand off me, I still could feel his touch. It made me feel dirty. I made a mental note to rip his arm off before killing him.
"So, fledging. How many years since you were turned? 5, perhaps 10?"
He circled around me, like a vulture. It felt like he was undressing me with his eyes. How should I answer him? He thought I was turned many years ago. Yet, it was just been a week. If I answered honestly, what would happen?
"5 years."
I lied. He was already on an advantageous position. I had to gain something.
"Hmmm. You actually managed to hide from my sight for 5 years? Well, it is not like I cared about weaklings but it is still odd."
He stepped towards me, once again.
"Now, who turned you?
Shit. I knew that it would come to this. Should I just tell him. According to Edward, Elizabeth was an Ancestor. Strongest and oldest of vampires. Yet, when Edward talked about Ancestors he used plural. That meant that there were vampires same rank as her. What if me answering puts her to danger. Maybe I hated being in a leash but she was still my savior.
"I don't know. I only remember the pain."
He looked at me and grinned. Without me reacting his hand was wrapped around my throat and I was lifted in air. He only used one arm, yet I couldn't break free.
"That was a dumb lie, fledging. Let me ask you something. How did a weakling like you survived 5 years without anyone backing you up? How did you found blood for all those years?"
