Chapter 4 - Chapter 3 - Arcane Element

A decent amount of people made a line in front of the pedestal that hosted the Arcane Element Detection Device. In the novel that I wrote, a person's Arcane Element is determined by their personality, their passion, their goal and their heart. People who are focused on achieving their goal even if it means resorting in violence are most likely gonna have the Arcane Element of fire. The Benevolent and Graceful by nature should be Water, The Nerves of steel and unmatched fighting spirit should fall to Earth and last but not the least, the Peace loving that would only resort to violence if needed, Air. These are some of the Criterias that a person must possess in order to Germinate within them a specific element. But of course, the Arcane Elements weren't bound to only these 4 elements, just like the Main character of this world, he possessed two elements namely Fire and Darkness. He wasn't the only one who possessed two elements though— I snapped out of my thoughts as I felt something slammed into my back, turning around, I saw a guy around my age, he had a darker skin tone compared to everyone I've met so far, he was quite taller than me with muscles bulging from his sleeves. "I-I'm sorry.... someone pushed me from behind"

I was quite surprised from his tone of voice, it was gentle contrary to his rough appearance. "don't mind it" just before I could turn my head to the front he spoke and continued the conversation.

"Aren't you nervous?. . ." his face was painted with a hint of anxiousness. After those words flowed inside my ears, a question popped up inside my head, what if I wasn't blessed with an Arcane Element? that would certainly destroy my purpose of coming into this world.

"Well, who isn't?" I brusquely replied while walking one step at a time as the people in front of me diminished after they were done with their Evaluation.

" you're right. . . .I mean, to be given an opportunity to leave this Trivial village and join a guild. . ." a gentle smile was plastered on his face as he met my eyes " I'm Herent, what about you?" It felt like time froze the moment I heard that name. Herent, He was the sturdiest S class Raider in the Vanguard Division in the later parts of the novel that I wrote. Amazement and Shock got the better of myself, a character that I created was now standing and talking in front of me.

"uhh. . . ." A look of confusion was plastered on Herent's face. Realizing that I was lost in thought, I feigned Nonchalance and calmly replied.

"Klein..... it's a pleasure to meet you" I couldn't bear to look at him in the eyes, not when I'm well aware of his background. He was just another peasant like me or you could say klein, One day, his father left to hunt in the mountains and didn't come back. He inherited the burden of sustaining the needs of his bedridden mother and his little sister who's currently looking out their mother. The thought of it filled me with a sense of guilt, I was the one Responsible for making his life like that after all.

After some time of falling in line as people started diminishing in front me, it was finally my turn for Evaluation. The man of broad stature looked at me in the eyes as he spoke in a stentorian manner. "State your name"

"Klein" I brusquely replied while maintaining eye contact, his eyes was seemingly scrutinizing me.

"Place your hand on the Orb" The Man crossed his arms, beside him, there was a woman who wasn't there a moment ago smiling while looking at me. She was wearing an Ornate Robe while holding an unusually long wooden staff with a Bluish gem engraved on the thick upper part of the Staff. I averted my gaze from her to the translucent orb on top of the pedestal, my hand hesitantly reached for it as conflicting thoughts filled my head. What if I won't germinate an Arcane Element? People who Possesses an Arcane Element are seen to be blessed by the Gods and Superior compared to normal people because of just how rare it is to possess one without it running on your bloodline.

"Hurry up, you're not the only one on line" The man of Broad stature spoke in scolding manner. Taking a deep breath, I gently placed my hand on the Translucent Orb. A couple of seconds had passed and nothing happened, not even a slight change of coloration from the Translucent Orb. After I was about to lose hope, blinding flashes of light possessing multiple Colors germinated from the once Translucent Orb. I could hear the gasps of the people gathering around to watch and their chattering in this unprecedented turn of events. Right after I pulled my hand away from the Orb giving off variety of colors, it shattered into pieces before going back to it's Translucent hue. Just before I could react to the situation, something grabbed me by my wrist, it was the woman wearing an Ornate Robe.

"You're coming with me boy" A smirked was plastered on her face as she dragged me a few meters away to an open space.

"I'll leave the rest to you Belgar" right after she spoke, she threw something on the Air towards the man with Broad stature who's name was Belgar. It was a Translucent Orb the same as the one that I shattered to pieces.

"Understood Madame" Belgar placed his fist on his chest as he Slightly bowed. A strange noise went inside my ears as the last thing I saw was Belgar looking at me Nonchalantly and Herent with a surprised look on his face before I was dragged by the woman to what seemed to be a portal.
