"No need to ask me, I'm not the one staying there. You can invite whoever you want." Kaylin said.
"I don't want to bother any of you, I can simply find a room elsewhere." Chris quickly answered, seeming a bit embarrassed. Maybe he was thinking the same as I just did.
"Not so sure about that, it's a bit late…" Kaylin said. "I don't mean to discourage you, but at this hour it might take you a bit to find a place, is really last minute. Just stay in the studio, you can keep each other company!"
Chris turned to look at me, seemingly ready to argue back. But I knew he only did it because he didn't want to overwhelm me after how I ran off after our talk.
"It's okay, Chris, really." I hoped he understood what I really meant. "You can stay, Kay has made a little makeshift bedroom for me, so the couch is free, it would save you a lot of trouble."
"Are you sure?" Chris said, still dubious.
