The smoke from Yuhen's mouth lingered on my nose for a long time. It seems that standing behind him while he gracefully and comfortably sit on his desk chair wasn't enough to make it hard for me.
I wanted to tell him to stop smoking, I mean, I don't care if he dies because of it but I'm the one who's about to die here while inhaling those thick smokes from his mouth. I found from my research when I was still in college that second-hand smokers are more likely to be engaged with severe illnesses. I don't know why we are the one to suffer, though.
It isn't fair at all!
I carefully put my hands on my nose to at least lessen the smoke that's coming inside my organs. As I was able to finally feel comfortable although, I wasn't really able to breathe, Yuhen's low and deep voice suddenly spoke.
"Amira, do you also think I'm that bad?" He asked after releasing huge amount of smoke from his mouth.
Without looking at me and still focusing on the screen of the laptop on his table he asked me such a difficult question.
I forced myself to lie and say the words I don't even mean out of my mouth.
"No, sir."
If he's not my boss, I would gladly tell him how dangerous and scary he is. Even the word bad wouldn't suffice his evilness. Just by looking at his all black office, you could already tell what kind of man he is. This large office which is only composed of his shelves... black shelves and black chair and tables can make people understand that he is not an easy kind of man.
I got back on reality when Yuhen's humorless laughter suddenly thundered across the room.
"You've been my bodyguard for five years, Amira. Do you think I won't be able to tell your lies?"
The 27-year-old man clenched his jaw and his eyes deeply piercing my whole body. I closed my eyes to let out my frustration.
And he found out again.
I was surprised when he suddenly stood up from his seat and walk towards me who was behind him. I step backwards to give the two of us, space.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Acosta." With again lies, I tried to covered up my lies.
Of course, I'm not sorry!
He laughed again which made me tremble. That laugh... I hate that.
"Of course you're not."
I step backwards again when he came forward. He looked at the small distance between us and shook his head.
"You're still scared of me, aren't you?"
I swallowed all the saliva I have left inside my mouth just so I could calm myself down from the nervousness I'm feeling.
"You're trembling." He again spoke and slowly move backwards.
I did not answer. The silence inside the room was very loud so I did not hesitate to speak because I really hate it when there's this kind of awkward silence between us. I held my head high up to fake my confidence in front of him.
He doesn't like it. He doesn't like me fearing him. I know that...for five years.
"Torturing someone is considered a bad deed in our society today Mr. Acosta so technically, you are bad. However, I am not that kind of scared to you."
One of Yuhen's brows raised, as if not finding my words believable. "Yeah?"
With his taunting eyes, he asked again. "Then, will you stay with me until your old?"
My mouth opened when he asked that question. I can't! I still have to make my own family, get married and...
"No need to answer. I know you will." He said with finality before turning his back on me and sat on his chair again. He was typing something on his laptop when I got the courage to ask him.
"How would you know that I will?" I asked confidently because for God's sake! I know myself and I know very well that I won't last long after this day!
He paused, "Because I will make you, Amira."
What the fuck? I really want to quit!
"Sister Amira!"
My anger suddenly left my body when the cute voice of Kira make it's way to the office. The office of Yuhen opened and spit out the cute image of Kira running towards our direction. Behind her was the 7 years old Trev who was calmly walking behind his sister.
I left my position and walked towards Kira. I kneeled down and hugged the 5-year-old child. She was giggling while hugging me and it was really cute. " I missed you!" her cute little voice said.
"I miss you too," I uttered before kissing her cheeks as she giggled with all her might.
"Kira and Trevor, I told you not to run around the mansion without bodyguards, it's dangerous." Yuhen's controlling voice sounded like a father but it wasn't the first time I've heard of it.
I smiled when Kira pulled out from our hug and cutely pouted her lips. Trevor was now sitting on Yuhen's lap while holding his favorite book of Shakespear.
"Don't fight me." Kira whispered while playing with my hair.
Yuhen inhaled loudly to show his irritation. Well, he cannot get that angry with his nieces, he treats them like his own child.
"Why do you even have to escape your bodyguards? They're protecting you..."
I smiled as I watched the two of them fight. While Trevor was busy with his book, sitting comfortably on his uncle's lap, not minding the noise around him.
Now this is the reason why I cannot quit. Because I know Yuhen still need someone to take care of his niece and he lets no one touch them unless it was me.
