Chapter 1 - Chapter 1-Introduction(1)

In a large town with only 3,232 inhabitants a pair of old and young men work together. Inside the old man's lab various monster organs and chemicals are kept in sterilized containers. The pair stand in front a brass copper table. On its sides are various surgical and repair tools. On its center is a bleeding horned rabbit.

Its major joints have been punctured, replaced with machinery. A portion of its spine has been replaced with a collection of metal tubes and glass containers. On each round piece of machinery is a low quality mana stone refined to refill over time using a combination of sylph blood, mandrake roots, and the stomach lining of a dire wolf.

Because of this it looks more like a mass of flesh wrapped by artistically appealing crystal webs. Each core is connected by a metal tube containing purified Slyphine water.

"Scalpel." The old man says.

"Here sir." The young man says.

The old man wearing leather gloves, pants, and apron with bamboo sandals proceeds to install the last core. "...We're done." The old man said before patting the young mans shoulder.

Ignoring the blood and rust on his stained white cotton shirt and leather pants smiles. His deep blue eye shine a joyful light. He moves his shoulder length hazelnut hair to his back. The old man seeing this, frowns. I wish I still had hair, he thinks to himself.

The two look at the rabbit and smile. First they make sure that no muscles, bones, veins, or tendons are damaged beyond repair before turning on the device. Suddenly the metal tubes emit a slight glow. Needles shoot from the sides of the tubes. For five minutes the mana cores continue to collect energy before injecting the water into the rabbit's body.

Its body begins to heal. Its flesh wraps around the machinery, thumb wide spikes shooting from the injection ports to make sure refills are possible. Suddenly the horned rabbit is perfectly healed. It looks completely normal except for the small metal rings on its spine.

Immediately the old man breaks into tears. He falls onto his knees and covers his face. Hiding the scars lining his face he smiles. Finally. "We can use magic." Suddenly he jumps to the horned rabbit and hugs it. The young man, calmer, only smiles, his eyes glistening.

While the two are celebrating, the horned rabbit wakes up. The old man, still excited doesn't notice. Thankfully, the young man does. "Shit! Wilber! Out of the way!" Without hesitation he throws himself at Wilber. The horned rabbit missed, stabbing the young man instead.

"Ahhhh!"

Seeing this the Wilber smiles even wider. Of course, he makes sure to grab a surgical knife from the operation table and ram it in so deep into the rabbit's eye that the handle is no longer visible. "Charlie! We did it! It was a complete success!"

Charlie just flips Wilber his middle finger in response. Ignoring Charlie's annoyance Wilber walks to a nearby shelf and an inferior restoration potion "Okay, okay. It's a good thing I brought potions."

Charlie stands up and applies the potion, struggling to stay awake. After a few seconds the wound stops bleeding. Seeing the potion in action Wilber frowns. Just like everything else in the world anything made without Mana will always be inferior. Just like his town and everyone else like him.

The world population is 95% mages, the rest being humans from earth. At first the locals though of earthling as descendants of gods but after comparing technologies mages were found to be superior. Yes earthlings had a greater understanding of how the world works. Its incredible what can done without Mana.

Unfortunately for humanity everything they could do the mages could do better and cheaper. Seeing as earthlings lived by defiling the land, had no mana, and were inferior physically with mages having a life-span of over 200 years, they were instead called "The Banished". Earthlings having committed a great crime were forced to live without Mana, when earthlings still had not learned their lesson, god banished them to a lower holy land to be a test for the locals.

When all earthlings have been slain the lands will ascend to the garden of god.

The truth is that they had to abandon earth and move to the nearest inhabitable planet as a large asteroid pushed it out of orbit, setting its path far outside the solar system. As space travel has already become advanced enough for the middle-class to tour the moon it would be no issue for humanity to move on. Especially considering that 99% of the population died in the initial blast.

The only survivors we're the rich and their children, high ranking politicians, major contributors in the fields of science, mathematics, medicine, and the final few being the lucky normal people that chose the right evacuation spot.

In the USA, near California is an army base used as a front for the governments highly illegal research of advances space weaponry, planetary evacuation vehicles, bio-chemical warfare. Several towns evacuated there before the initial blast while a ship capable of holding 10,000 people was being preped and secured for take off.

First the important ones left, bringing in countless crops and animals from their home country to be used in the ships agricultural sector, the normal people on base were massacred, then the normal remaining people forced their way onto the ship.

Finally 7,843 people made their way on board. They were not the only ship leaving though. Every major country had a ship. In total 43,298 adults and children left earth. Every ship moved towards the same faraway planet. For an unknown amount of years they traveled. Hierarchies formed and fell, wars started, civilizations rised and collapsed.

When they found their new home they were worshipped as gods because of their ships. Only, after three years did they lose their human rights. Earthlings couldn't do most jobs with their frail body. They could not contribute to the economy in ways that didn't challenge the bloodline inheritance system, wether directly or indirectly.

They presented cars but the mages already had golems. No need to damage their home, creation is easy and cheap, and they can mass produced so cheaply that even slaves could afford one.

They presented air-planes but the mages presented beastly golems. More expensive to produce, creation is difficult, and they cannot be mass produced but they don't have to damage their home, all they need to do is raise a beast, wether large or small and provide it golem enhancements. Sure they have to eat but that just encourages the contracted farmers to work harder.

They presented cross-breeding of animals and plants as well as improved farming methods but cross-breeding was seen as blasphemous. All the mages need to do have necromancer slaves kill the pest while the farmers pour Sylphine water, with Sylphine water being cheap and easy to get as all you need to do is go to any body of water and pray.

Finally humanity lost it's use. They were hunted and killed with the survivors gathering at "EarthVille". A bad name chosen by its founders, Wilber And Charlie Smathers.

Finally after everything they too can become mages.

"Divine miracle my ass." Wilber muttered under his breath as he prepared the good news. Charlie looks at him and smiles. The both of them, with renewed hope walk to the labs front door and open it.

"It Was A Success! Fuck The Stuck Up Mage Assholes!" Wilber screamed with his arms crossed.

"It Was A Success! Fuck The Stuck Up Mage Assholes!" Charlie screamed with his middle fingers high in the air.
