Chereads / I'm Going To Hell Aren't I? / Chapter 8 - Claire!

Chapter 8 - Claire!

I asked if I can food and everyone is just standing around. Sigh, such rude people.

I walk up to the table where there is plenty amount of food on a table next to the fake throne which is actually just a chair. I grab the tray and the utensils and make my way to a table to sit down.

I sit down and I realized that I am sitting right next to a girl. She looks my age. Pink hair although a bit dirty. White skin which has some cuts on her arms. Emerald eyes that look beautiful.

"Hey." I spoke

"H-hi" She stuttered.

"How long have you been here?"

"Huh? Oh. Oh! U-um I've been here for 5 months I-I think."

She kept on stuttering which made her look a bit cute and innocent.

But I know, she is far from innocent. She must have killed at least 10 people.

I didn't make an effort to know her. Since I already knew that she would die with the personality she has. She isn't confident. You need to be confident to survive in this place. Of course, I could be wrong.

I satisfied my curiosity and decided to fucus on eating my food. It tastes disgusting but it is food regardless. I finish my food and decide to go to a corner and think to myself.

I reviewed once more about what I have gone through and what I have to do to get stronger. I don't have Hein to help me anymore, so I need to rely on myself to get stronger.

I got up and started to practice my moves. Remembering the people, I have fought against, many have fought with different weapons and in different ways. I needed to be ready for all of that. As I gradually grow bigger, so will my strength.

Hein has not only taught me fighting skills and weapon knowledge but also common sense and the education system which involves subject like mathematics, science, literature, and history. A few months isn't enough for a 7-year-old to absorb so much knowledge during that time.

Not even I was able to do that. I wasn't even able to understand most of everything Hein has taught me. basics were at most the only thing I could understand a little. Just because Hein wasn't here doesn't mean I should just slack off.

I spent the rest of my lunch time reviewing what I have learned the past 5 months, but I have decided to reinforce that knowledge back in my cell. As I returned to my cell, I could see that all my stuff was returned. I checked the box to see if the name tags, I have kept was still there. I still remember how many people I have killed.

After confirming that all the tags were there I went back to reviewing over my knowledge once again. It wouldn't hurt and since I don't have anything to do here it would pass the time until I have to go to sleep.

The next few weeks passed by, and my birthday was here. As I don't know what day it is I decided to not care. Thinking about my birthday would only hurt me since it would only make me remember my family who I might never see again.

I am now in the lunchroom in my corner not being bothered by anyone. The older guy who named himself King kept his position and I agreed to allow him to do that under the condition that he doesn't bother me.

I have been trying to practice with some random objects I found in this place that I could use as a weapon. Seeing so many weapons in the weapon room before you fight makes me want to find a weapon that is truly meant for me.

But to do that I need to try every weapon since I haven't yet. If I haven't tried every weapon, how would I know what weapon is right for me.

I was practicing until someone came up to me.

"H-Hello."

Claire

"Uh, Hi?" I did a question hello which is a weird for of saying hello really, but it just came out of my mouth like that.

I look straight at her and she looks straight at me.

When I looked into her eyes, I already knew what she was going to say.

Claire took a deep breath and looked at me with a determined face.

"Can you hel-"

"No." I shut her down faster than you can say poodle. I already knew she was going to ask me to teach her. She had the same expression I had when I first ask Hein to teach me. I'm only 7 years old.

I'm not old like Hein. I'm not smarter like Hein. I'm not Hein in general. I can't teach her. I already have enough to handle right now.

"Teach me!"

"No."

"Teach me!"

"No"

This exchanged actually went on for a few days and I tried to ignore her for quite some time but UGH! This girl! She just doesn't want to give up. I just ignored her until I decided to give up. I thought about the good points about this deal, and I could use her as someone to spar against.

However, it will only be her.

If another person decides to use the same tactic as her an annoy me, I will beat them up.

Like Hein has taught me. "If violence isn't working, then you are simply not using it enough."

"I will teach you." I said with an annoyed expression behind my mask.

"Yay!" She jumped and tried to hug me, but I dodge her and said, "Stop"

She stopped and she tilted her head.

I sigh, "There are conditions. One, don't bother me unless it is when I'm teaching you. Two, we do not develop any attachments to each other. None. If you meet me out there, you will fight to kill me and if I meet you there, I will kill you."

She looked at me and then nodded.

"What weapon do you use?" I asked

"Knife." She replied.

Ok, a knife. That should be easier for me since most of the time I was with Hein, I used a knife.

I began teaching her about knives. I taught her the same way Hein taught me but with some differences of course. She was a girl and the inherently have weaker bodies than boys and she is my age too as well as malnourished. I told her a plan to get her to build up some strength.

Eat, sleep, workout, and other stuff that she needs she do to get stronger.

Some days passed by like this until it was time for the "Pigpen Culling".

But by coincidence, neither Claire nor I got picked. Of course, that didn't matter since we would definitely get picked but I was able to consolidate her foundation.

She didn't get a bit bigger since it has only been a little bit more than a week, but she does look a bit better since I "convinced" King to give us a lot of food.

He accepted with a smile on his face.

One thing I have learned is that Claire learns things very quickly. Whether it was fighting or knowledge about the knife she got most of it as the rest was difficult for a young child like her.

Oh, wait I'm like the same age as her. I also began to teach her to be confident in herself. While teaching her to be confident I was also teaching her to practice with knives by using random stuff in this lunchroom.

Other kids also wanted me to teach them, but I rejected but of course they use the same method Claire used before, so I beat them up.

"Thank you so much for helping me!" Claire said out loud.

I smile not that she could see it though, "You aren't even close to being done with all me lessons. We still have a long way to go."

"Yes!" She showed me such a pretty smile that so many kids got mesmerized by it and stood in a daze, however I was immune since that doesn't matter to me. A gentle smile means nothing and if she could still show a smile like that then I have to push her harder.
