We were rarely apart for more than a few hours at a time, and when we were, I missed her so intensely, it was like a physical ache in my chest. I had no idea how I had been able to leave her alone on the island for days or even weeks at a time. Now, I didn't even like to see Talia go for a run without me, so I did my best to accompany her when she sprinted around the estate in the late afternoon.
