James and Cadence had been away from Oliver Enterprises for over a week and they both begrudgingly agreed it was time to go back to the office, starting the next morning. They spent the rest of Tuesday afternoon in Charles's hospital suite, occasionally answering emails or taking work calls. Mostly, they kept the recovering man company during his waking hours. Elaine and Henry left before evening, promising to come back the next day. Belinda volunteered to spend the night there which seemed to surprise and delight her grandfather. Because of that, James and Cadence were able to head home without guilt and only a little regret. The drive back to their house was quiet, both of them lost in thought.
