Joseph was moving towards the field while remaining at a safe distance from every zombie and observing the situation several minutes passed and only 2 soldier zombies and 1 thief type zombie were left as Joseph started to move towards the Thief zombie which was to the left of Joseph all three zombies suddenly crouched down and let outcries.
Joseph was shocked by what was happening but his senses as a zombie had developed to the extent that he could understand they were evolving he was pretty confident when he came to the field but now he wasn't so sure after all he didn't know how strong a second rank zombie would be.
his eyes were on 2 Soldier zombies as he looked at them he saw their skin tone change previously they were the same as before they became zombies but now both of their skin colours changed to a light grey.
One of the zombies that was situated 200 meters in front of Joseph grew spikes on his knuckles giving them a menacing look than out of thin air a chest plate appeared seemingly from Zenith the other soldier zombie that was 700 meters to the left of Joseph grew scales on his body giving him a sturdy look and the same as the first zombie out of thin air appeared a Sledgehammer.
Joseph was amazed about how Zenith took care of its subjects it would cover their weaknesses while giving them useful items, unlike a certain someone that had shut her mouth the whole time.
Joseph didn't know anything about the changes to the thief zombie because it disappeared before he could get a glimpse of it.
Joseph tried to run away but before he could get far a shadowy figure went into the darkness of the entrance and hid there.
Joseph was the nearest target to all 3 zombies he was right in the middle with no way to run.
The thief zombie had hidden itself waiting for the right time to strike but Joseph had a rough estimate of where it was.
The first zombie to attack him was the one with the menacing knuckles it rushed forward towards Joseph while doing so Joseph felt like the agility of the zombie was higher than his but not high enough for Joseph to suffer.
It got within 5 meters of Joseph and prepared its fist to hit him Joseph grabbed the chain that was hanging from his right hand and slashed it at the zombie.
The soldier zombie was caught off-guard and got hit right in the head causing it to fall, before Joseph could rush and finish the first zombie the second one was already close it took a wide horizontal swing towards Joseph, he dodged it by jumping backwards towards where the thief zombie was.
Now the three zombies were within a 30-meter radius of each other Joseph was prepared to put his life on the line to take a gamble if he could survive for 20 seconds then he would have a chance and if he couldn't well it was unfortunate he was still young and virgin.
He then used Goad Zone successfully taunting the zombies they all rushed towards him he finally could see the thief zombie after seeing the appearance of the zombie he was shocked it was his favourite idol Fuyumi and she was holding a dagger while wearing a cute Black hoodie with cat ears, active shorts and sports shoes it was the first time Joseph saw her with casual clothing even with sportswear her beautiful figure was still magnificent her previously lit and kind eyes were now cold and her silver hair waving through the air while she was rushing Joseph at full speed to decapitate him was soo beautiful that Joseph thought that he could die happily without any regrets.
suddenly the silent Godiva with a surprised and angry voice yelled out to Joseph
[WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IDIOT DODGE]
Godiva was surprised previously she had cut off all of Joseph's worldly desires and turned him into a cold-blooded killer but now Joseph who was previously fearless tried to run away from the battlefield on top of that his love for Fuyumi made him feel like he could die happily without any regrets indicating that Joseph had deep thoughts and desires to just give up.
Joseph suddenly snapped out of it and remembered that he still has many unanswered questions He dodged the attack of Fuyumi now Joseph's 20 seconds had officially started.
The three zombies didn't cooperate giving Joseph an advantage over them every time they tried to attack, Joseph would use them to block each other and since the main target right now was Joseph they didn't attack each other Fuyumi's agility kept increasing leading to her injure Joseph several times the most serious one being a stab right in his stomach.
20 seconds was finally over Joseph was 8 meters away from them while the 3 of them were standing near each other, they were still in a state of confusion Joseph had lost half of his HP and he was recovering with the help of the holy shroud.
First, one to snap out of it was the spikey zombie he used what seemed like a skill his spikes grew larger and emitted a red glow he then punched the scaled zombie causing several cracks.
Fuyumi tried to run away but Joseph knew if he let her go now he would be finished he used all of his Molotov cocktails and blocked her path.
Godiva knew if it continued like this Joseph would end up dead and that it wasn't time for her to act like a kid she had to do her job.
[Joseph after zombies reach the first rank and because it takes a lot of evolution points to evolve they can gradually consume evolution materials and raise their stats till they evolve.]
Hearing this Joseph was happy he still had a chance so he told her to use everything Joseph had gathered during the war.
When the war of the zombies started Joseph killed any normal or lesser zombie that got in his path and collected their crystal cores he also had several first rank cores that he gathered when he killed one or find a dead first rank with its core intact.
Godiva warned Joseph that it will hurt but Joseph had no choice and his only concern was to not lose his balance and fall after the pain started leading to his death.
Joseph leapt backwards and started spinning his chain in front of him as fast as he could it caused Fuyumi to not be able to attack him from the front and whenever she tried to change angles Joseph would turn at the same time after 20 seconds the pain started compared to his first evolution it was nothing but still painful Joseph bit his lips and stumped his leg on the ground he didn't lose balance several seconds later the pain was gone.
Joseph had gained quite the amount of agility stats due to the Thie zombie crystal cores and because of mage crystal cores, he recovered 20% of his mana allowing him to use his holy shroud for a longer period of time.
Joseph still couldn't completely keep up with Fuyumi but he could parry and dodge all of her attacks.
he was hoping to buy enough time until one of the soldiers had finished his opponent.
After 2 minutes Fuyumi finally used one of her skills she was ranked 2 so she should have 2 or more skills.
The skill she used was Undead's Cry a rare skill that only those who were bards before becoming undead possessed well in her case she was an idol.
The effect of the skill was devastating it was a skill used to make opponents confused and dizzy.
