"I'll be meeting some of my friends later. Uhm…you don't have to come to pick me up. Noel will take me home."
Pete didn't reply and just kept his eyes on the road. There were some subtle changes with Lilly nowadays. She was being assertive about who she is from the way she dresses and how she kept on pursuing Matthew, which he found alarming.
"Pete," she nudged him because he didn't say anything.
"I hear you, Lil."
"Who are you texting?" He asked because she kept on giggling on her own as she typed on her phone.
"Secret," she grinned like a child who was hiding some naughty deed.
Pete glanced at Lilly and he got a glimpse of the profile photo of the person she was chatting with.
"I didn't know that despite the age of Matthew's secretary, he was still up to date with the apps the younger generation were using." He casually said and laughed when Lilly punched his arm.
"Why you—" She said, punching his arm again.
